I have always assumed that if any of us were actually let loose on a football league or PL club accounts system where we could view payments, advertising, costs, transfers etc we would be quite surprised and would naively go 'hang on, this is not what I was lead to believe by newspapers!'
I would imagine a lot of those transfer fee's are never actually met though.
