the point I am trying to make is you wouldn't need to get any extra games squeezed in for them because so few of them are left in the tournament by that stage anyway if only 3 lower league teams are left in the tournament by the 5th game how does that equate to 4 or 5 extra games needed scheduled i...

teh reason they don't have weeks scheduled is because so few of them make it beyond january that would not change much if the 3rd round was still played in january as suggested above and they still knock each other out in rounds 1 and 2 in november So beacuse it fits in with the Premiership clubs i...

By not having the FA Cup games and putting the fixtures in then? The football league, especially League One and League Two do not have blank Saturdays solely for cup games like the Premiership. Take League Two this season. You would need to move 4 or 5 matches to dates earlier in the season to acco...

OK, maybe it's time to re-vamp the FA Cup. Here's what I would do. 1. Get rid of the League Cup. 2. Keep the FA Cup 3rd round as is in January Now for the revolutionary bit... No more cup games until after the league season. The league season continues to an earlier finish - say 2nd week of April -...

rg6royal but the thing was, the linesman had given offside.

If you had read my comments you would have seen that the laws of game do not make a distinction between "inactive" and "active" and therefore it is up to the individual interpretation of the referee.

Whilst you may be technically correct about pushing or holding, why is it we don't see a multitude of yellow cards everytime players take positions before a corner is taken?! Common sense has to apply and clearly the merchant Dean has absolutely zero common sense. Furthermore he compounded his inco...

I believe there are different types of offences some of which, like violent conduct, can and will be punished when play is 'inactive', others that won't. Afterall, you could hardly be booked for deliberate handball when the ball was out of play, or indeed when an offside decision had already been g...

The sending off was a joke because the referee completely failed to apply the laws of the game correctly. Rooney was offside from the pass the preceeded the Sodje shirt pull/tug. The shirt pull/tug by Sodje therefore took place during inactive play & was therefore irrelevent. The referee was al...

Maguire Squad player at best.

So? If contracts were only offered to regular first teamers (which Hunt currently is) then we might be a little short of players.

He fully deserves it my opinion.

I don't think Lita is worthy of it - he only started in 3 of the 7 matches in December.

RoyalBlue and whether his assistants can see well enough to make offside decisions.

Some would argue that that is irrelevant.

wonder what the pro-tom hark MINORITY? will say about that? seems they better get writing to the club to save it. People who moan about the parking clearly never go to away games. Last season it took me over an hour to get out of Southampton. Villa this season the same and I missed most of the first half. Get used to it I'm afraid it goes with being in the Premiership. Just wait till we go to Chelsea Spurs and...

So even if didn't dive, as some claim, why did he catch the ball as he went down and claim a penalty? That in my book still warrants a yellow card as he was still trying to con the referee.

Re: The pitch

Yesterday was the first match this season where it was noticable that the rugger-buggers had had some effect - the ball bobbled about a fair amount and one or two passes were misplaced or not controlled properly because of that. Not an excuse for the second half perfromance by any means, but it can...

Re: FA response to STAR letter

I couldn't decide between an exclamation mark and a question mark at the end of the title. What is going on STAR? With Cech's (welcome) return to training, the Cheatski media machine has started rumbling into action ahead of the boxing day rematch and there will undoubtedly be extra focus on the ga...
