Free entry to Staines Town v Maidenhead United with a Reading season ticket on Saturday: http://stainestownfootballclub.co.uk/nld/4586348261 Car parking can be a nightmare round there because of the gym and local residents. If travelling by train, give yourself plenty of time as it is a fair walk b...

Eagles on the hunt Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish on BBC Radio 5 live: "We've agreed a deal for a striker. They're at the training ground now trying to finish it. He has played in the Premier League but he's not currently at a Premier League side. We're bringing him in on loan. You wi...

In answer, the first one is New Brighton Tower. The second Thames FC and lastly, Peel Park of Accrington.

That big old shed on the left reminded me of an old ground which had an equally imposing building as a backdrop http://38.media.tumblr.com/42e28631d2b81536ae5c75838d9f7ef7/tumblr_mlrelgVREw1qhqjigo1_500.jpg And no cheating... who played here? http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Thames/images/photos/west...

Re: Non - League thread 2013/14

An enjoyable game yesterday at Stag Meadow where Godalming Town edged it 2-0 with the second coming from our corner where we had sent up the 'keeper to try and salvage a draw. The best players on the pitch were the 4 central defenders which gives an idea of the sort of game it was. I can't fault the...

Re: Berks & Bucks Cup - we're back?

I know that historically they were in Berkshire but are Wantage and Didcot only there to make up the numbers? These two I can understand as they would have been B&B members before the County boundary cahanges in 1974. Not sure though how Shrivenham manage to get into the B&B Senior Trophy t...

Re: Non - League thread 2013/14

It was a thoroughly entertaining game with bot sides playing some cracking stuff. A draw was probably a fair result but the referee was shocking. Struggled to keep up with play, had his back to play too often, failed to talk to the players while play was going on, failed to take notice of his assist...

^^ you guys are seriously blinkered. How could they justify not spending the money from the Morrison deal :!: New owners who will 'Fully support the manager' .... The Cox fee was funded by the Antonio sell on clause. Mackie a loan, Ferdinand a free. It's fine by me if we are happy with mid table, b...

Thoroughly enjoyable trip to Stroud yesterday and FoC is absolutely nailed on about how picturesque the ground is. If anyone wants to venture out west it is well worth it.

I don't get the general meh at this signing. Experienced and will more than offer competition to what is currently there. I like this signing. And if Ian Royal doesn't like him then he must be good.

Re: Join fans marching for 'Affordable Football for All' 14/

If you want to change the way football is priced then look at the root cause. BSkyB are responsible for the ridiculous amounts of money thrown at the game and their exposure encourages supporters and lovers of the game to throw vast sums of money at ticket prices. Imagine what would happen if everyo...

Re: Which was the first bowl type stadium in UK?

So it's probably Old Trafford then. As improvements were done prior to the Riverside being built in 1995. The new Den was the first of the new Stadia post Taylor (granted it isn't a bowl) as it opened in 1993. Thanks for clearing that up then. The first new build stadium constructed after the Taylo...

Re: Confimred new owners of Reading Football Club

Sans That's a lot of words. , some I might agree with, some not . However the point was not 'what are our players worth', it was that despite predictions earlier in the summer we have not been forced to flog off our assets That's a simple fact, and had we been in need we would have found buyers for...
