Apparently not if the Beeb article I've literally just read is true.

Re: Back from the game - Chelsea

pea Also, was that hour the only time we've ever been sitting at the top of English football?

Nope - we were "top" for a few minutes at Villa in 06/07 after Doyle's(?) early goal.

Re: Reading game you would like to watch again

Probably the Middlesbrough Coca Cola cup quarter final. Sure we lost in the end but it was a close run thing, and I was young enough that I hadn't grown out of football at the time. The 'Boro goal still grates on me. All down to the ref - the "Butcher of Bootle" - George something. Cue a ...

Re: John Terry

Isn't the 2.5K the maximum fine for the court case? If so, presumably the FA will be able to fine him up to their maximum (which, IIRC, is still 2 weeks wages) for "bringing the game into disrepute" or whatever?

Re: When we play Newcastle away....

Why? - England play a tournament every 2 years...... We don't play Euro (the equivalent) football every 2 years do we? Its every 2 years and the only reason its been a year since the last one was to move it so it sat in the season where there wasn't a world cup as more African teams are now startin...

Compo's Hat Considering the opposition in December and January i imagine a few will be moved then.

Agreed - hopefully some of the home games will be moved to 5:30pm on a Saturday. I quite like an early evening kick off on a Saturday.

Thought it was one from seven for England: Won: Spain '96 Lost: Germany '90, Germany '96, Argentina '98, Portugal '04, Portugal '06, Italy '12? AFAICR, aren't RFC played 4 won 3? Beat Cov in the Simod Cup, Beat Cardiff (?) at EP in the FA Cup, West Ham at MS in the League Cup and lost to Darlo at th...

Is that for definite? I know the prices back in 07/08 were around that mark so potentially it could be more I guess..

Get Reading Hammond declined to reveal the identities of Royals targets but said: “I’ve got a number of discussions ongoing and we are hoping to complete on some other deals soon.”

Something that a lot of the rabid salivators on here would do well to remember.

Royal Lady Won't our first game be at home so that Reading Festival weekend we're away, or something.

Would've thought so - unless they schedule a midweek match due to the season starting later.

Villa at home is my prediction.

Re: Joseph Barton

The fine is a joke. When he kicks out like that completely unprovoked then you should hit him with a much bigger fine than that. Isn't there the "maximum two weeks wages" cap on fines for footballers? Barton on £37.5K a week at QPR isn't that outlandish so probably where the fine amount c...

Re: McDermott - " I want to manage Ireland"

Would be pretty dissapointing if Reading was the peak of any manager ambition, shows a dangerous lack of ambition. So why say you want to manage ROI? I guess because he sees ROI as his country and, as has been said by numerous international managers in the past, managing your country is the u...
