Re: How impressed are you with BMcD's return to the club?

I find it impossible at this early stage to pass a judgement over McDermott in his current stint as Reading manager. He hasn't failed or succeeded yet in his job as our boss. His mission has barely begun. What I do know about him though, is that he is one of only two managers to get Reading in to t...

Re: Summer Rebuild 2016/2017

So you all want a midfielder who can talk the talk and be a bit of a rebel, and is passionate about reading and football, does he have to be able to kick a ball. Because thus far I could do that....... I'd do all that for 40k a year just putting myself out there if you don't put yourself forward yo...

JIM You know the READING WAY, no transfer deals until the last week of the transfer window, We cant afford to pay for players holidays , and non productive weeks. Thats we always end up with crap unwanted players.

Ok I'll humour you yer

No Fixed Abode Blackman leaving was 'great news' at the time. But now those same Reading fans use that as an excuse as to why the season went downhill.........

His form tailing off was before he left.

Re: Message from the Thai's

I hope the Thais have been smart and I'm not wrong with this, by January we had a faltering squad of big egos that had cost the owners a lot of money on loan, there was no point investing as the season was pretty much over by January and the team spirit was shattered, they offloaded what they could ...

Re: Worried Supporters.

http://star-reading.org/index.php/news/ As of the 2014 / 15 accounts, our staff costs (presumably predominantly player wages) were £33.3m. To put that in context, I believe that means that last season our wage bill was approximately the same to finish 19th in the Championship, as it was finishing 1...

Re: Worried Supporters.

Really? Yeah we lost Pearce Jem pog and Fed. But we kept Williams, Gunter and McCleary and signed Al-Habsi, McShane, and Quinn none like to be cheap. It was still over £30m at last accounts which is about double a sustainable Chump budget. But for a one off non cash income injection we'd have lost ...

Our wage bill can't be anywhere near the size of this time last year or 2 years ago, debt I appreciate, but I am sure there will be money to spend and if so Brian will make the best of whatever budget he has. Re: Worried Supporters.

Just to point out to various statements on here, they did spend 2.5 million on a loan for vydra so they aren't exactly spending no money and probably have spent 3 million on other transfers and loans this season. They didn't put in any of their money though, and we will be paying off the Vydra loan...

Re: £3million for Ola John

But to contradict myself if lets say there was a kitty of 2 million already and let's say the fees from hector, blackman and da were sitting there for next season 11.5 million ish then john for 2 million would make sense, but if it's not then no money could be spent in better places
