Sorry it's taken me a while to check the game, but I've re-discovered my favourite bit of commentary from a live game on Sky. At the end of the Derby game on New Years Eve 2005 the commentator said : "The last time Reading lost England were 1-0 down in the Ashes" Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Re: Our Sponsors

comeonthebiscuitmen Where can I find a history of our shirt sponsors?

Is there a long lost thread on this?

has anyone ever had dealings with HAT painting?

I had to help my sons with their Easter bonnets once. No Painting, just sticking a few bits on, though.

Yes, that's the rumour!

Yeah. She wasn't the only one disappointed with Moran's performance.

Be fair to the guy - he had a bad back, and given the state of his missus I'm not surprised.

Re: Best RFC left winger of all time?

Neil Smillie One of Ian Branfoot's signings during the bad season of 1987/8, he played a large part in Reading's Simod Cup win, scoring a goal at Wembley. Other than that, he didn't do much and probably was let go (to Brentford?) by either Ian Porterfield or Mark McGhee . He eventually went onto ma...

Whoever has the most Royalty points is obv the best fan ever as they have been to the most games. Sadly, not true. In the days when we went to games home and away in the 70's, 80's and early 90's no-one had even dreamt of Royalty points. I agree, the royalty points has been in effect for only 3 or ...

Senior had that knack of being able to get up early for a cross and be able to hang in the air. His timing was very good and he could shoot as well. My vote goes to Clever Trevor but Lita and Friday upfront would have been funny, entertaining and infuriating to watch. Lita & Friday - talk about...

I can't believe he didn't win that Football Sprint Challenge. He didn't even look like he was trying. Can't rememebr who did win now, though! Re: Left wingers

If Bobby is the best left winger you have seen then you really ought to go watch more football. For me Gilksey is the best Reading left winger, but as rightly stated we have never seemed to have a dearth of talent in that position. I'd argue that Convey is a far better footballer than Gilksey ever ...

Re: Left wingers

Hunt and Convey can rightly wear the shirt with pride, but in my humble opinion no single Reading player has ever approached Michael Gilkes' ability to excite the crowd. The whole of Elm Park was electrified (including the away end, with fear) whenever he had the ball at his feet and started a run ...
