Re: 2022 Qatar

3 to 4 hours ahead but most of the games are going to be in the 3 hour zone

turning 5 o clock kickoffs into 8 and 7 o'clock kickoffs into 10.

I really fail to see how this is 'worse'.

Re: Photos of old grounds

One of the best sets of photos I've seen is by Stuart Roy Clarke - homesoffootball.co.uk Some absolute beauties, particularly like the L.S. Lowryesque shot of one of the great old nostalgic stadiums in English football that was the Leeds Road Stadium of Huddersfield Town FC. It had a simply marvell...

Re: Next Reading Manager

I think it is fair to say he got hammered by a mixture of transfer window, internationals and that cancelled game or two at the start of the season. When it became apparent there were deep shortcomings to the side, which are only found by testing in competitive games, there was very little he could ...

Re: "It evens itself out over the season"

I don't believe that the effects of luck do even themselves out. Better players are better prepared to deal with the variations in bounce or flight and react accordingly. They turn more 50:50 challenges into 60:40, get more half chances into full chances, react to the mistakes of other teams quicker...

Re: Worst tackle ever?

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BFlrSIcCcAA6ZZb.jpg Seems clean to me  It clearly shows one foot on the ground, and the ball in a playable position. Reckless and clumsy especially rather than malicious. I have been away from news, I'm guessing he's not been hammered for it by the FA

No, but I am saying that it might make a nearby player go for it when otherwise he wouldn't. That's pretty obvious.

Re: Worst tackle ever?

Also, just because a tackle might result in an injury need not mean its a red card. It was reckless but the bad first touch set it up for a hack clear.

Re: Worst tackle ever?

I think McManaman for Wigan today takes some beating, disgusting studs up to the knee, Mark Halsey didn`t even give a foul, these PL refs really are poor this year. I winced watching it live. How he missed that is beyond me. Vile vile tackle. The way he just stood there after with his thuggy little...

I only know Micheal Thorp because on one edition of Championship Manager, the first thing I would do would give him a free transfer.

Re: Welcome To The Players Of My Life

David McDonald – unremarkable right back signed from Spurs during the days when McGhee had more loans than the Greek government. Literally no-one else I have spoken to remembers this man, so it is possible that I have dreamed him up. I’d be thrilled if someone wanted to get in touch via DM perhaps ...

What sort of excuse is that?

My guess is that he speaks such rubbish English that he set it up to avoid things like this happening. :|

Was only thinking last night , i wonder when Kitson will give his two pennorth. EDIT. Actually reading that I'm not altogether sure that's one of his. The first one is, I think, a different column. Mancunian with an Irish family, if I remember rightly. Given some of the speculation earlier in the t...

Re: Players don't want Di Canio

You know, i reckon the plan was to get rid of McD and get Di Canio in but once the players turned round and said "no" its kinda back-fired on the board and now they're saying "we don't have anyone lined up".......so basically the sacking was a pointless one as we're just 3 coach...
