Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Like dominoes.

Quique Sanchez Flores to leave Watford, despite a comfortable mid-table finish and an FA Cup semi-final.
Bizarre. What must his target have been at the start of the season?

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

No sarcasm required. Martinez got relegated with Wigan and took Everton to mid-table. It's difficult to see he has a Premier League option next.

AthleticoSpizz Roll the "Martinez to Reading" rumours

If he's prepared to drop to the Championship (he might not have a choice) surely he would be of interest to Villa? Or Newcastle, assuming Benitez leaves.

Some of the masks players wear for broken noses can look fairly normal. Pedro stitched up a good 'un here.

Re: England - the future....

Milner did his cause no harm last night with a cracking performance. Perhaps I'll change my mind and say we should make room for him amongst the inexperienced midfielders. He's one of Roy's faves. I think he'll go at the expense of Drinkwater. Some stat doing the rounds before this weekend that Mil...

Re: England - the future....

"the best form of defence is to attack"

I agree, Vic, but picking a relatively immobile Andy Carroll, who can't break at pace, and has pretty average feet, doesn't lend itself to that.

Re: West Ha Ha Ham

Definition of an idiot. Your team is moving into a massive, new stadium, potentially heralding the dawn of a new era for the club, after a very strong season. And you throw a bottle at a coach carrying the away team and get a life ban. How do these mouth-breathers even dress themselves, nevermind an...

Re: World Cup 2018

Reading about American Samoa, who famously lost 31-0 to Australia in the recent past - they have risen to the heady heights of 164th in the world rankings, and even won 2 qualifying games this time around, missing out on progression to the next round on goal difference. Apparently the last few year...

Championship sure, but I'm not sure 'doing a Pompey' is top of my wishlist.

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Winston Smith 9,000 tickets allocated to Liverpool for the final and only 4,800 of those to go on general sale

lolwut!

It's only a 38,000 or so capacity in Basel, but still, that's ridiculous.

Re: England - the future....

Quite. Beating two defenders and twatting it into the stand is preferable to running to the by-line, doing a step over and losing the ball (the Walcott) and failing to beat your man, nutmegging yourself and looking like an orc (the Milner).

Winston Smith £90 for the new Chelsea shirt

Apparently the standard replica shirt is £55, the £90 one is the 'authentic' version. Which as a fan would make me wonder what shit I was paying £55 for.

genome They all went missing. I don't think I've ever seen a team move less off the ball than they did.

I was lucky enough to be in the Nou Camp when they lost to Barcelona last year, and they were static and clueless then too.

Re: Are Leicester genuine title contenders?

Correct. Essence of the post is true though, and I also disagree with EILers. This was a time when the top few clubs in the second tier were better than much of the bottom half of the first division. Signing Shilton and Gemmill catapulted Forest into challengers. Still a terrific achievement, and of...
