Re: Michail Antonio given new Reading FC deal

Barry the bird boggler We've taken up an option in his existing contract to extend his deal by 1 year, the cynic in me says we've done this to ensure Southampton have to pay something to sign the player.

Exactly! Thank you!

Re: Michail Antonio given new Reading FC deal

I thought the contract was an option RFC could chose to take up, which presumably he agreed to when we signed him in late 2008. My guess is that he would be a free agent this summer otherwise and we'd get bugger for him.

Re: Michail Antonio given new Reading FC deal

Or could it be a case of giving him a deal so that we get a reasonable fee for him from Southampton?

Re: Gylfi to leave ?!!!

Absolutely pure fantasy on my part but one possible deal I could have seen until Simon Cox recently started becoming a first choice striker for WBA, would have been Sig to WBA with £3m and Simon Cox coming back our way. My mind changes daily but something like that would be pretty good if it became ...

The other relevance to the current team is the fact that members of the team could be seen as potential transfer targets for a manager who has a history of signing players from his former clubs.

Nice to see Sonks now getting the opportunity under the Elephant Man to play his full part in Hull's relegation though. Must have been hard for him having to watch other people concede penalties from the stands.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Yes...but that was when they went from Championship to League 1 - relegation between football league. I think the grey area (which I am sure someone will know, Dirk?!) is whether the penalty rules apply between Prem and Football League... Chances are as the Prem seems to make their rules up as they ...

Re: Good Luck Sir Steve Coppell

Played out of position at right back most of the time when you are probably referring to him appearing average.

Playng inhis favoured position he has looked class and it is now very apparent why he was Cov's player of the season and their fans were gutted to see him go.

That looks ridiculas, and wtf is that red neck all about? Back in the Durie/Dixon days when I started supporting Chelsea, red trim was always on the Chelsea kits. http://www.footballshirtculture.com/images/chelsea-10-11-adidas-home-kit-leaked-3.jpg Sorry to be a bit anal but they also wore an all b...

Re: Graham Turner is selling HUFC

I'd imagine he wanted to get out for a while but probs wanted to wait until at least the threat of relegation back out of the league had been extinguished. He has given an awful lot to the club over the years though so hopefully it is well appreciated in that part of the world? How is the news going...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

In March they were given 35 days to settle the debt, having already paid a tax bill of £2.1m last November. However, they have been given a further stay of execution after the court was told they are planning to transfer the money owed within the next few days. Fuxache that's lame. If Southend can'...

They already are in the top flight. It doesn't get any bigger than the Blue Square Premier for non-league clubs.

At least they go in to the play offs on a run of form.....bad form that is, snigger snigger
