Re: Bikey

The clip posted on this thread doesn't show that Bikey has trotted over from 15-20 yards away and piled straight into the medic. Ridiculous to claim some form of racism - quite clear on the clip that the medic is as white as I am a Martian. Christ knows what has come over him, but any form of defen...

Re: edit: BIKEYS RETURN unlikely BE A CATALYST?!

Cisse and Sonko will have a chance to forge a partnership. It might help Cisse to have Sonko next to him, not only for his dominance in the air, but also for the fact they speak the same language. That doesn't solve the problem of Sonko's recent awful positioning, tendency to give away a penalty at...

Re: Bikey

What an idiot.

I can see an extended ban being enforced by FIFA for this. The only similar incident I can think of is the Di Canio push on whatshisface the Ref.

How long did he get banned for that one?

Re: New manager

Therefore if JM wants to survive in the Prem he has to bring in someone else immediately however painful that is. If JM wants to survive in the Prem he should make the money available to the manager so he CAN bring the right players to the club and not just the ones he can get on a shoe string budg...

Re: Coppell's latest backtrack

Be interesting to hear your views when next season playing away to Swansea I would somehow think RR's views will be the same as they've always been. He will want Reading to win, surprisingly they may choose to ignore his suggestions from the stands (or comfort of his armchair) and they may even los...

Re: The table doesn't lie.

Gilkes came out with a comment after the home defeat to Pompey, he said that we have a similar income to them, and 12 months ago, were similar to them on the pitch, but they invested to enhance their chances of enjoying the money the top flight offers, but what did we do ?? Great post!! And to enha...

Re: Coppell's latest backtrack

I agree, he is too professional to bad mouth his chairman. Not sure how many on here know this, but some of the players have a clause that basically means if/when a new players signs a contract, if he becomes the highest paid player at the club, they automatically get the same. I don't believe that...

Re: Steve Coppell

Coppell may decide to quit, but only at the end of the season. He's in a results based job and if he fails to deliver the results, then we know what he'll do. Honestly I don't see what we would gain by his resignation. If we went down he would be an excellent choice to get us back up. Something nee...

Re: How we stack up against the opposition in terms of signings

I thought Cahill was excellent today by the way.

Don't know if he's worth the money they paid for him but none of our forwards got a kick and he dominated for the majority of the game.

Re: Coppell's latest backtrack

So are we blaming the manager here, or pointing a finger at a chairman who's raking it in and quite possibly not offering enough money to Coppell to get the players he actually wants? I don't want to blame anyone, but I certainly wont hold Coppell responsible . He can only work with the tools he's ...

Re: Reality check

Big decision soon Mr Mad - lack of quality, lack of tactics & lack of investment. Look what Megson & Bruce are doing for Bolton and Wigan - relegation now looks likely as Coppell and Co have no ideas how to stop a losing run. His team selection made Bolton look like Real Madrid. Haven't pos...

Re: How we stack up against the opposition in terms of signings

gonesy If we manage to keep Shorey, Lita & Hunt again I'll be happy with that. Much better than more useless signings who can't get in the team or has-beens like Litmanen (LOL!)

I'm amazed that so many Reading fans are happy to continue with a squad which has faltered so much over the last 6 months.

Re: How we stack up against the opposition in terms of signings

Andrew I do admire your optimism but do you think Doyle and Kitson would still be with us in The Championship? This current squad has got us to 2 points above the relegation spot-it would be fine if we stay 2 points or even 1 point above the relegation spot after the Derby away game but will we wit...

Re: Emerse Fae

There are similarities between Fae and a lot of players coming to England. For example, Drogba had a fairly indistinguished first season in England but has gone on to be one of the best strikers in the league. I'm not saying that Fae will have that sort of impact but he could easily look a differen...

Re: Coppell's latest backtrack

First - Various posts on here reminding SC about stuff like needing a right winger - do you really think one of the most thoughtful managers in world football hasn't noticed that he has to play an out of position player there every week? I can see him reading this now and saying - of course you are...
