Re: BFTG - Derby

Went to the game with the future Father in law, who is a Villa fan (from Smethwick). He's been talking about seeing empty stands on the sky highlights at Reading all season (on the wind up) and it was good to watch an exciting game with him from Y26 with an atmosphere of sorts. Polite applause at f...

Re: Boycott

I could be tempted by the idea of a 70 minute walkout at Derby. Does anyone have the link to a social media page pushing this as ICBA to trawl the sites?

Re: Boycott

This is probably repeating elements of several other threads but no one appears to have put it strongly enough yet. 80% of us want a change of manager but the owners are not hearing us. They appear not to follow the results and in any case when Reading lose a game it’s just another poor performance...

Re: Boycott

Was about to post a thread on a similar subject. I'll not be able to boycott the Derby game as I've promised my soon to be father in law I'll take him. Would be interested in another pants day though or similar. Bit uncomfortable at the sectarian nature of a 'wear green to get out orange' day but i...

Re: Last game of the season

Isn't the last away game at Cardiff and also the final game of the season? Given the state of performances this season can't imagine this one would sell out whenever it's played esp. if Cardiff are celebrating.... Yes, but if we are fighting for survival it could sell out. Don't last games also sel...

Last game of the season

Assuming this is meaningless and we're not in a relegation battle, does the last away game of the season usually sell out? I can't remember if it does or whether it just sells well.

I'm organising a stag do which might take in this game and don't want to be scrabbling round for tickets.

Re: EFL Cup third-round draw will take place in Beijing at 04:15 BST on Thursday

Courtesy of the BBC: An EFL spokesman said: "We understand that not everyone will agree on the timing of this week's round three draw, but in staging in this way it will give the competition both the maximum exposure in the UK, Chinese and South East Asian markets. "This is not only an im...

Re: Trouble at the station after the game last night?

This is a 13 year old kid we're talking about here, high likelihood it's bollocks. given the amount of vans and minibuses blue-lighting away from the stadium 30-45 mintues after the match, the likelihood is it's not. Yeah he mentioned these as well, can't say I saw any but then I was on the Nags bu...

Re: Trouble at the station after the game last night?

remember quite a bit of violence in Southampton, and at the station and on the train home when we beat them on a Friday night at their place in the Mcdermott promotion season. I remember a massive over reaction from the police all lined up waiting at the station when we got back saw no actual viole...

Re: Trouble at the station after the game last night?

Punches thrown apparently. Whilst I take your point, I always think we have a slightly more aggressive support on big game nights when Chelsea aren't playing. Seem to remember quite a bit of violence in Southampton, and at the station and on the train home when we beat them on a Friday night at thei...

Trouble at the station after the game last night?

I heard from one of my KS3 students today that there was trouble at the station between Fulham and Reading fans last night, anyone got any more info on this?

Re: How many RFC pitch invasions have you taken part in?

Loads. All the celebration ones since about 1979 and also the aftermath of the debacles v Notts Co in '89, Port Vale in '98 etc. Sure there's probably more as well. Do you think the fans invaded the pitch to celebrate promotion in 1926 or just politely applauded and not realise the club had been pr...

Re: BFTG - Fulham

Would just like to echo the praise for the team tonight, but also mention that the fans played their part tonight excellently: got well behind the team permanently when we went up drowning out Fulham, and did their best to back the squad at the end of the second half when we were under the cosh. Gre...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Bit rich coming from fans of the club who issued out rumblestix. One of the most ridiculous and cringeworthy things I have ever seen at a football match. Well, next to the 2014 pitch invasion. For me, easily the most cringeworthy thing I have ever witnessed at a RFC game was: Norwich at home, a few...

Re: Please stand and applause on the 52nd minute at the game tonight- Dave Murtagh memorial

Here's the update on the situation, from the friend who's organising this and who asked me to publicise it here, and personally I'm happy with what the club have decided: Good morning, all. Andy Dawber, Dave’s long-time friend and work colleague (27 years standing) who Guz talked with at the start o...

Re: Please stand and applause on the 52nd minute at the game tonight- Dave Murtagh memorial

BR0B0T RIP In Peace....but does every fcuking game need a gesture?

I take your point but I think the way in which it happened, on the the day of the game last week, and the way in which we found out is what it making people push for something at the game.
