Re: Best One-Liners heard at a Reading Game

Sometime in the late 80's, Mark Robson, who is on loan to us as a precocious teenager, sends over a high cross that eludes everyone (again), to which (big) Billy Whitehurst is heard by me and my mate in the Tilehurst end to scream.."what do you think I am? A fecking jack in the box!?"... I...

Re: Reading FC was a West Reading club

I live in Caversham and would love to know which area is a 'no go areas', as they seemed to have passed me by. This has confused me. - also what serious crime, other than the odd mugging?????? Its no nivarna, but its nothing like you have suggested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reading,_Berkshire E...

Re: Have you ever missed some or all of a game...

In the late 80s, I forced my family to drive back early from Cornwall for a boxing or new years day fixture against swindon IIRC, and ran up to elm park at 2.30 pm thinking I was cutting it fine, only to find a blow dried Colin Gordon in club blazer leaving the stadium... Apparently it had been a 11...

Re: Shane Long Interview - Mentions HNA?

Respect...... I am a convert to the 'new' Shane Long - I wasn't sure - but can't deny the proof of my own eyes - thanks Snowball.

Have always rated Kebe

And for the record - I think Cummings will mature into a decent full back - he also has that magic ingredient - pace!

Re: FAO Jimmy Kebe

and what's the deal with pasta for breakfast... Billy Whitehurst wouldn't stand for that... still if its the worst thing about being at Reading, can't be too bad

obviously google translate is imperfect - Boulogne [u]don't[u] have a big budget - Crystal Palace a [u]mythical [u] club - but you get the gist

Gets my thanks for being part of 'that' team, his debut against rotherham (?) and walking round Tesco on Vastern Road a few years into his tenure wearing the full monty Real Madrid tracksuit while shopping. Having said that, he wasn't contributing much over the last few seasons and needed a fresh st...

Re: Rodgers: The 'Truth'

I concur with PistolPete in his post - makes no sense - but then, when the brown stuff starts flying around, it takes strong leadership to navigate stormy waters - I'm sure many will have seen MDs abandon a strategy when the numbers don't add up.....even if it was a long term plan....maybe just huma...

Re: Why we have to lose to Burnley

If we try and fail, fair enough, if we don't even try because it's 'better to concentrate on the league', I'm handing back my ST - we should try and win every game - you only live once and its a short life - Coppell neglected the FA cup to concentrate on the league and we still got relegated....
