Re: Do you ever wear a football shirt?

I gave all mine away when we moved … primarily because I never wore them and they needed a good home Don't remind me Franchise as it was a real disappointment for me that I was a day late in trying to get a Simod Final shirt for my son who is a prolific wearer and collector of Reading FC (and Chels...

Re: Do you ever wear a football shirt?

I get why people might wear them for doing some sport or around the house/gardening as they are comfortable and very washable. What I don't get is adults over about 20 or so wearing them, especially fat blokes and it seems like most shirt-wearing fans are fat. They definitely look better on women. ...

Re: England - the future....

BRO_BOT Sangers, would you want Southgate to take over LFC when Klopp leaves?

Isn't he already lined up for that mid-table club 35 miles or so east of Liverpool?

Re: England - the future....

Most football managers IMHO have a fear of losing, especially those without the strongest of squads and playing defensively first and foremost can take you a long way. Southgate has had some of the poorest defenders at his disposal but arguably a large number of choices in attacking positions, espec...

NathStPaul Liverpool will bottle it, perennial bottle jobs.

A poor attempt at an April fools joke OMA.

Just the 6 European cups, 19 English titles, EUFA cup and countless FA and League Cups.
Yeah, just a bunch of losers.

Re: The non snowball stat thread

Academy is just a new name and structure for a youth team. Clubs have had youth teams for ages. Yes I know but what about Reading?. How long have Reading had a youth team? What did we have before the Academy was set up? Did Reading have a youth team in the 80’s/early 90’s ?… Genuine question I don’...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Bookies clearly don't agree with OMA about Liverpool being "inferior" as they are now clear favourites at 11/10 with City at 15/8. Having backed Liverpool early on at 6/1 I am pleased but with City's seemingly easier run-in their current price does represent value for money IMHO and may ju...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Well, Liverpool have a better one for a start  :D Joe has done a really good job there and whereas I argued many years ago with vision about right-footed left-backs there is now a case, with so many left-footed right-wingers, for having a right-footed left-back to match up. This is more relev...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

They are an inferior team with or without Robertson. Give it up. So they really can't be that "inferior" as you call them when they are joint top with just 10 games left so IMHO they have a second favourite's chance of winning the title and if they did it would be quite an achievement wit...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

With Andy Robertson getting injured again on international duty it does feel that Liverpool have done rather well this season to be where they are at this stage. The following have all been out for at least a month at various stages:- Alisson Alexander-Arnold Matip Konate Robertson Jones Thiago Szo...

An interesting article. 'Premier League teams are on pace to score about 200 extra goals this season, compared to the average of the previous 15 seasons' https://www.espn.com/soccer/insider/story/_/id/39761156/why-premier-league-pace-break-goals-scored-record Quite an interesting read but isn't it ...

Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Chesterfield, effectively promoted back to the EFL anyway due to goal diff, but 1 point tonight against Halifax would seal it Would be quite an early promotion for the NL? Interesting* if you look at the play-off sides - with the exception of Barnet (and Aldershot if you see them as the same club) ...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

I don’t know if this has been posted already elsewhere as I am no longer a regular contributor and don’t follow that much of what is posted on here. Supposedly the club ( or whoever is actually running things now ) has approached Crystal Palace to request a cash return for rescinding a sell-on benef...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

In Ian's absence I will make a rare substitute appearance. A strange but entertaining game where I don't remember either keeper making a save which is rare in any game of football. Having read a report of Derby's Saturday game away at Lincoln (0-0) I was quite optimistic about our chances as apparen...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Brighton & Hove Albion U21 (a)

I am no longer a regular poster nor intend to be (I know, who cares apart from me?) but after last night I am so annoyed that I need to get it out of my system. Before the Eastleigh game there was some discussion over whether we should try to stay in the competition. IIRC it was around 50/50 but I wa...

I think Dai's fortune was all luck and no skill Not only Dai. Very often those that make millions or billions hit on one good idea at the right time.
