Re: Championship 2009/10

Ipswich for me. To go and give Cardiff a 3-0 seeing to in the last game at Ninian Park made a pretty good statement for next season I reckon. Cardiff gave the distinct impression in the last six games that their key players had contract offers elsewhere. I wouldnt read much into any result against ...

Re: Have we missed a trick?

Wigan are not easy to beat but they are a small club in Premiership terms and will do well to remain at this rarefied level for much longer. I see them as a team we can compete with on a level playing-field. I dont feel the same about Newcastle. Having said that being a big club doesn't guarantee s...

Re: Have we missed a trick?

We've missed a trick in as much that I cannot believe the standard of the championship will ever again be as dreadful as it was last year. Im not sure that losing Wolves, Birmingham , Burnley, Norwich, Southampton and Charlton and gaining Newcastle, Boro, West Brom, Leicester, Posh and Scunthorpe w...

Re: Who misses Sir Steve already?

It's alright, I've got used to reminding those with basic memory flaws on here about what's actually happened. Maybe I can correct yours. I was at both those Wolves play off games, and you do know we lost both of them, dont you? So so much for looking likely to win one. In fact we were a one man te...

Re: Who misses Sir Steve already?

Royalee
I was talking since Coppell took over when we'd finished 4th the previous season and by all accounts played better football and looked far more likely to win the playoffs than we did this time around.

What about your accounts?

Re: Brendan Rodgers - a Watford view

Why on earth would we want one of the significant contributors to Newcastle's current state? Souness or Allardyce? Take your pick it works for either. At least Alladyce managed very impressive things fairly consistently with Bolton. He royally f*cked up Newcastle, though. You could say it was the l...

Re: FC United Season Tickets

http://www.fc-utd.co.uk/story.php?story_id=2249 Sounds like a great idea in theory, how much would you pay? LOL. Pay what you want, providing its not less than 90 pounds. But we would strongly urge that its more than 140 quid. This club really should voluntarily fold. It was pretty pointless to beg...

Re: GOD HELP US

In terms of numbers, we DID buy, but we made a number of safe squad bolstering signings instead of impact players, but that is because "we only bought with a fraction". We did that so our Championship wage bill would be lower than our premiership wage bill, and where I disagree with Schar...

Re: Bloom invests £80M in Brighton

Are Brigton a bigger club than Reading? They used to claim to be, but as someone who lives in the area, there is absolutely nothing to suggest they are. They barely get in the local paper and when the Brighton promo car (which has Nicky Forster on the side) drives to an event, it gets wholesomely i...

Re: Departing Players - A Question...

Different managers will have different views on that, depending on how good they think they are at dealing with "problem players". Someone who could get the best out of Lita stands to do very well because he undoubtedly has talent - but that manager also risks a lot of collateral damage i...

Re: GOD HELP US

The point I was trying to make was that it was SC fault we didn't sign him not JM. The money was available, but SC chose not to use it. I would have to disagree. As Papereyes has alluded to, we have struggled at the contract level. I would also point to this post I blame Tommy Burns for making Mr M...

Dr Hfuhruhurr I think the best way to improve the atmosphere is to get a gang of nobodies from Whitley, to abuse their own fans, high up in the South West corner.

You're an idiot.

^indeed. Is the first day of the season August 15h? If so I'd guess we'll be away as a fortnight later we're definitely away, although this kind of ignores any midweek games thrown in Also, this is to be ignored if opening day is actually August 8th So, to summarise, there is a good chance that eve...

Re: who do you want as our next manager?

THE BETTING MARKET HAS CLOSED I THINK ROGERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED THE NEW MANAGER WITHIN 24 HOURS Would that not involve some allegation of 'tapping up'? If we are announcing a new manager so quickly, would it not be somebody without a club? Not as long as Watford gave permission for us to talk to BR ...
