Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h)

You just hope Wigan live to regret getting nothing from the opening 20 minutes where they have been dominant.

Sojskjaer's career has gone nowhere since leaving, but now looking back you'd say he did as good a job as ETH, and just about every other manager since Fergie.

I know next to nothing about Wigan's squad, but their fans on Twitter are saying they have a terrible line up today.

Odd. Selles said no new fitness yesterday, but something must have happened to Yiadom. Mbengue a big downgrade on current form.

Leeds hammering Ipswich in the Championship early kick off could be a real momentum changing result, much as I want Ipswich to do it.

At the time of the 9-0, they brushed it off and said it was an U21s game in the pizza cup. But it really looks like the moment it all started going wrapped for them.

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

On the away travel bit as well, many of these players still get £3k a week, not that it's acceptable but surely can't they temporarily fund their hotel stays and get paid back when the clubs in a lesser mess? Presumably something like this will happen. Our next away day is manageable in Peterboroug...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Wisdom of the Cat 1 academy questionable for a while. Sustainable in the Championship if you have a plan to produce 1st team players and sell on for a profit. Which we didn't. Definitely not sustaniable in L1, but perhaps makes sense if you have an owner willing to fund it while you lay foundations ...

Snowflake Royal I don't really care about communication. Put something out and 3 hours later its out of date.

I care about some actual progress and results.

No one asks for communication when we're winning.

I believe Brentford's owner says sweet eff all to them. For some reason they don't seem to mind.

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 23/24

The Chinese League failed, so will the Saudi one. You can't recreate the passion, crowds and atmosphere of European leagues that comes from historical clubs with connections to their community. These disruptors will never feel like an authentic product no matter how much money they have. If you have...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group v2.3b sponsored by Sports Direct Tennis Ba

Obviously the redundancies are sad, but it's part of the game that when clubs get relegated they need to cut cloth and this should have happened months ago. On the one side, we want the club to be sustainable, but then redundancies are sad. What is absolutely unforgivable is letting them work in thi...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group v2.3b sponsored by Sports Direct Tennis Ba

There's also a huge trust issue with the club. If Pang puts out a statement saying Dai still wants to sell and that negotiations are still ongoing, quite frankly I don't trust their sincerity. The club may nationally be "up for sale", but the same is true if you put your 1 bed flat on righ...

Apparently they met the club yesterday. Their statement demands more open communication from the Club on the sale process and then proceeds to divulge fcuk all detail on the conversation, presumably for confidentiality reasons

Edit: I was being harsh, they confirmed Dayong Pang is still alive.

Winston Biscuit Luton confirm that Tom Lockyer suffered a different issue at the weekend to the one he did in May, and he has now had a defibrillator implant put in, which is the same thing Eriksen had put in

Have they confirmed whether he'll play again?

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 23/24

I wonder if something more akin to this will enter UEFA competitions by the back door. We already have next year's Swiss model which offers an extra safety net for big clubs failing to qualify, and which will take a lot of excitement out of the group stage. It's not hard to imagine it evolving into ...

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 23/24

If I understand the ruling correctly, it's more about transparency around UEFA's approval of competitions I.e., there is no transparency and accountability. But they still have the authority to reject future competitions if there are legitimate grounds and sufficient reasoning. So no doubt they woul...

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 23/24

So has the veneer of sporting merit, but let's say 15th and 16th are relegated from the top division, you'd probably in practice end up with 12 massive established clubs who know relegation will only occur if things go catastrophically wrong and then 2nd tier clubs scrabbling over the remaining spo...

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 23/24

And hey presto, it's back! 64 teams, 3 divisions. Top 2 divisions of 16 teams and 3rd division of 32. Divisions divided into pots of 8 for group phase, then end of season play offs to determine winners and promotion. Qualification for 3rd division based upon domestic performance, no permanent member...
