Re: Anyone Noticed Our run-in?

No, I'm sorry each game is an exclusive event whether you like it or not. We also have a manager who plays on this fact to the nth degree. If games are independent, then WLD the next game should not relate to the previous result, yes? We have W16 D6 L6 W 57% D 21.5% L 21.5% 57% Win 78% Win/Draw 21%...

You're wrong, simple as that. And that's not opinion, that's fact.

Re: Anyone Noticed Our run-in?

Games can be proven to be NON-independent There's a clear positive-run effect this season. The first few league games were all over the place DWLWLWD (3-2-2) though we could have won the first game late on (Doyle's header) but we were still adjusting to the relegation effect, and a different team, k...

Re: Anyone Noticed Our run-in?

We're no more likely to lose that particular game than any other though as each game is an exclusive event. Games are NOT exclusive events. That's plain daft. Ever heard of "a bad run" or a "good run"? Confidence is a big deal. Nerves are a big deal. Sides on a roll often play &...

Re: Anyone Noticed Our run-in?

Don't see how losing to Wolves will "probably" mean we lose at QPR. Not at all. Hey I don't WANT his to happen, but it's not an uncommon scenario. Everyone keeps talking how Wolves "always" blow-up. We haven't played well since the game at Birmingham, snatched a draw v Cardiff a...

Re: Anyone Noticed Our run-in?

My last big wedge was a little wedge, previous game I had a tenner on Armstrong first goal and Reading 3-0 at 131-1 When we went 3-0 up I told my son we wouldn't win our bet, it'd be 3-1 or 4-0 But when the Watford keeper pulled off a cracking save (from Ingi?) I started to think... But then Lita sc...

Re: Anyone Noticed Our run-in?

Most likely result v Wolves is a score draw (2-2?) With this sort of knowledge you should get down to the bookies' with a big wedge. You see that question mark did yer and the "most likely" ? 35% Score Draw 30% Reading Win 25% Wolves Win 10% 0-0 draw Still makes "score-draw" &qu...

Re: RUMOUR - Herman Hreidarsson

Coz LB is an area where we have little/no cover. Yes but HH will be 35 next season, and if he's not playing, it'll be hard to stay top-fitness, his age will make him more prone to injuries, and longer to recover. He wants to play, they say, so first choice? For how long? Presumably he wouldn't want...

Re: RUMOUR - Herman Hreidarsson

HH, 34, can't get in a side that may well be getting relegated from the Prem

How does that make for strengthening Reading for the Prem?

Re: Rumour: Doyle's off to Man City

Robinho
Keane?
Bellamy
Benjani
Vassell
Caicedo
Bojinov
Ched Evans
Jo
Daniel Sturridge

Doesn't make much sense them going after Doyle, and no sense for Doyle (except money). There would be eight players fighting to be fourth-choice striker

Re: Wishing the seasiders well today....

Swansea are 13 points behind us and have won only 9 games so far this season.

............and we've scored 20 more goals than them. They may be a very good passing side and raise their game against the better sides, but we are better at getting consistent results.

Is that a statisic?

Re: Shane Long

Lita and Hunt would make reasonably acceptable subs and back up squad players. Providing we're doing reasonably well, Lita is quite likely to perform in the prem due to big gameitis. There you go again.. Opinion based on nonsense. Doyle 28 league games of 86 minutes each this season = 17 goals Hunt...

SERIOUS QUESTION

If Hunt is still here (but where is his head?)
should he play v Wolves or will he be a liability?

What use is that stat when SSC only makes his substitutions when we're winning, and there's only 9 minutes left to play?

Re: Shane Long

A lot of Long's goals have been in minutes where he is coming on fresh to play against tiring defences this would have an impact on those figures. Well if a lot of his minutes on the pitch are the last ten, what do you expect? The poor guy cannot win Mind you, did you realise that in league games w...

Re: Shane Long

Long started in preference to Hunt against Palace and Ipswich. That's one way to put it. Not necessarily true though. It's common practice to "blood" new players as 20-30 minute subs So SC might have bought Noel as second-striker From the following Shef weds game onwards NHunt was first c...
