We played 4-4-2 against them at home I recall, and it worked pretty well - we weren't exactly torn apart. I know OT is different but as Stranded said this is a cup game.

How does a club build up a scouting network across the world - e.g. does Reading have "dedicated" contacts in various countries or do those contacts alert lots of different clubs to particular players? How do you decide which countries are worth visiting? Why do you think we managed to sig...

And in any case we have just spent over £4m on new players in January ... so even if the increase was for that purpose, the money has all gone. Coppell publicly stated he coudn't get all the signings he wanted in the summer. I wouldn't advocate any rise in prices, but it's exceptionally harsh to cr...

Love: Kevin Doyle. How can you ever criticise a player that gives one hundred per cent, for 90+ minutes, week in week out, and even if he was a player of League 2 quality would still be worth every penny. Honestly can't recall a bad game for him though, so maybe my resolve is yet to be tested. Hate...

This is the best one ever - a two page spread in the Observer today, with an interview and profile of Coppell on one side and along the right hand side a profile of the squad entitled 'Who are they?' with photos and short bio's of each of the players. And next to Sidwell's profile is a photo of ......

Convey. Hunt is a mediocre player who is enjoying a run of fortunate games. It sums up the average fan that they prefer him to Bobby, it's down to the fact he chases more lost causes and gets stuck in abit more. Give me some flair and someone with the ability to take people on and deliever a cross....

Re: Reading to come to Cork

I think the ex-cork lads will be well recevied, few City fans not happy though about comments Coppell made around the time Doyle was signed. Spotted him over a 'Guinness haze' or something along those lines didn't go down well!! Forgive me my ignorance, but was the problem with the "guinness h...

And didn't some article mentioned earlier in this thread (can't be bozzed to find it) say that (rather than being in pre-season training) he had been on holiday during the past two weeks....? So probably will take at least a month or more to get up to speed...

Gordons Cumming I find it absolutely ridiculous that we are now in the position to call a cup match at Old Trafford a bad draw.

Or, alternatively, absolutely brilliant? :)

Convey. Hunt has done a great job since coming into the first team but he cant cross the ball as well and lacks that burst of pace Convey has. Hunty put in some perfect crosses in the last match. He can be a bit inconsistent, but so can Convey. Convey is better at free kicks, but that's what Shorey...

I have spent the last few days, bored at work, checking HNA every few minutes and waiting for this deal to go through, and now that it has (I assume - barring eleventh hour disasters) I am mighty pleased. It has even lifted the gloom of the earlier FA Cup draw. not really sure why, it's a bit unfair...

Most commentators have enthused about us this season, noticeably so, and even so much that when we have lost they have expressed surprise that we have not played to our best. We really shouldn't complain - this is probably the most positive coverage we'll ever get - next season (should we stay up of...
