Re: BFTG QPR

paultheroyal Excellent defensive performance. People slating Gunter (who was actually decent) can’t even bring themselves to acknowledge being in the right place to clear that shot off the line, dreary me.

Might be because that was Morrison.

Re: FA Cup away day memories

My dad took me to Aldershot v Reading in Jan 67 - my first away game. Lost 0-1 and there was a then record crowd of 16,500 squeezed in to the Rec. Sat on the touchline for a while and then my dad stuck me on top of a tea kiosk for a clear view. How the fu ck they got 19,138 in there three years lat...

Given how Clotet apparently got the job, does that make this the snake in the grass derby?

Re: Reading FC Womens World

RoyalBlue Maybe the men’s team should be looking for some tips.

Funny you should say that. When I saw that goalmouth scramble, I was certain that the Brighton women's team had picked up their defensive tips from Reading's men's team.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Brentford (a) sponsored by a Phil Parkinson flick on

Since Yiadom was already going to miss a game for 5 Yellows, if he had received a second yellow and been sent off, he would have missed the Leeds game anyway. Question, had he been sent off for two yellows would he have missed 1 or 2 games? He would only have missed one game, which would be for the...

Station scheduled to open in late 2020 according to RBC newsletter. Won't be holding my breath.

On the fares to "Reading stations" issue, there is recent local precedent. Oxford Parkway is ticketed separately from Oxford.

Re: Away ticket prices

This is about the time of year that the BBC bring out their laughable Price of Football survey, in which they consistently have failed to notice Reading's low prices.

Whore Jackie ... Blackpool fans. They're still in love with Charlie Adams.

If they really cared, they would know what his name is.

Forbury Lion ...he'd overstretched on his mortgage ...

That's an incredible coincidence - The Secret Footballer had the same problem. And the same solution. And the same outcome.

They have some good points on their forum tbh: "Reading has got the dirtiest KFC I've ever seen, that dirty that I walked straight past " "It had the same greasy hand marks and tomato sauce splatters over the windows for the whole 2 weeks I worked there." If you remember, the to...

Re: Record Watch 2019/20

So Premier League excepted until the second matchday, we're already down to just 8 football league teams who can threaten our wins record - Sheff Weds, Charlton, Blackpool, Lincoln, Fleetwood, Plymouth, Swindon and Exeter. Wonder what the fastest is that all teams have lost their 100% record? You'v...

tmesis I don't think I'd call Maskell a success either.

I thought that but looking at his wiki it's 72 apps and 99 goals  That cant be correct, can it?

Should be 26 league goals.

Re: CONFIMRED - Puscas

Back in the 1960s how many Reading fans dreamed of Puskas, Moore and Pelé playing for the club? Wasn't it 1956 when Puskas ran rings, with Hungary, around the England team? I remember watching that match in B&W on TV 1953. You're older than you thought. But you might remember some other Hungari...

Re: Rival Watch

Disciplinary points deciding positions? Is that new? Yes - last season it was just points, goal difference, goals scored, then play-off. But obviously it will never apply in practice at the end of a season. Do Assistant Coach cards count as well? Asking for a friend. No, it's just players. I ...

Re: Rival Watch

The EFL have changed this, I think, because of the impossibility of fitting in a play-off to determine position before the actual play-offs start so it now goes something like GD, goals scored, Head to head to head, away goals, discipline. Basically they were throwing everything in to avoid ever ha...

Re: Rival Watch

Why? If Reading finish in 22nd spot, would you accept relegation on alphabetical order? Surely you would claim that we are equal with the 21st. team and demand a play-off. But, having said that, with our record in play-offs, we may just as well accept 22nd. I think it works on a lot of variables af...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Reading U23 won 2-1, with goals from Popa and Odimayo. Roeselare had a player sent off near the end, and again Reading failed to score against 10 men (but didn't concede either). Reading line-up: Andrésson (46′ Boyce-Clarke), Watson (63′ Elva-Fountaine), Osho, Odimayo (46′ Burley), Medford-Smith, Ea...

Platypuss Agree, Virginia was nowhere to be seen for Chelsea's third and fourth and should have done much better.

Pretty sure that will be too subtle for Finerain.

Delighted to say that David Meyler now qualifies for this thread. Based on what I've seen of him on the pitch he's probably looking at Combined Counties clubs at this very moment.
