Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 23/24

CL R16 draw today. Naturally all the runners-up will want to draw Sociedad. PSG will get Real or Bayern. City will get Copenhagen . No-one will want Inter, who were strangely rubbish in the Group Stage. Group winners: Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Atletico Mad...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Brogue Never seen such humble comments from an opposition team fair play to them.

Yeah - that was my assessment too.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Lincoln: Quite how Reading didn't leave Sincil Bank with 3 deserved points I really don't know. They were simply brighter and more cohesive than us for all the match, bar the opening few minutes. Reading had two chalked off which on another day could have stood The linesman on that side did us some ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Maybe Dai has had a change of heart, falling in love with us again, freed up some of his money and going to underpin us all again.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (a)

Stranded 14th in the form table, undefeated in 2 away from home now. Next 4 games are big. If we are out of the bottom 4 after the Exeter game, then baring points deductions we should be OK.

Over the last 5 games we are 8th in form table.

Thought we played well and dominated. Lincoln were poor. Continuous signs of improvement. Onto the next.

Re: Weekend Football

Basically the bottom 3 - need to find a minimum of 9 wins from 22, when they all are on a run of 2 wins from 16 - that is a tough ask to turn that around.

Re: Weekend Football

Relegation. Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd are done already, aren't they? Everton are good enough and I think Forest will find enough results. Is surely only Palace, who are in freefall with Doucoure out, who might bother 18th spot? Said before but likely team to get out of the bottom 3 are Luton. Th...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Oxford United (h)

Will do more of a comment tomorrow but what I would say is, god that was an over hyped anti climax Derby if I ever saw one. Also, and I am not saying this because it’s Oxford, but that has to be the quietest sell out away fans I have ever seen at the stadium. Sang at the start, cheered when they sco...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Comments before the game - help to set the scene... So what are we singing tonight? Going Down? Going Bust? You can stick your ****ing tennis balls / biscuits up your wotsit? What else? To all those saying Reading doesn't matter much - it does to those of us who grew up in South Oxfordshire and had ...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Disgraceful scenes in Turkey - kind of grateful it has happened over there and not here as its been brewing. This incident will now hopefully make everyone think twice around referee safety, what is important and start at grassroots level. There was already a campaign starting with abuse of referee'...

Re: Refereeing

There was a match being played on the pitch next to Jnr II's before they kicked off last week and a player got sin binned. We were all a bit bemused by it as we didn't realise it was a thing. Guess it might be getting piloted at some grass roots levels. its been in our grassroots league for a coupl...

Re: Weekend Football

Of the 3 promoted sides, I think Luton have the best chance. Before the season, I said Burnley but I guess if you're a diet Man City that doesn't work against technically superior teams. Luton by contrast have physicality, workrate and have the wide quality to put consistently good balls into the a...

Re: THE BETTING THREAD

Pepe the Horseman Had a bit of luck with Sky Bet acca freeze last night. Put Luton in (16/1) with 4 heavy favs, then froze it as soon as Luton went ahead. £143 back off a £5 free bet.

Gonna do the same tonight with Sheff Utd.

well done - decent result that. Its a great feature on sky bet.

Re: The Non - League thread

Scheduled match for me tonight at Winslow postponed so have gone to Basingstoke v Hungerford. 1st match i have seen at this ground. 2-2 F-T decent enough game in front of 538. Hungerford 1up and then 2-1 down. Home fans gave plenty of support but can’t say i heard anything that i wouldn’t hear at o...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Eastleigh (a)

You have to start by giving Eastleigh credit. They're a well organised team with a decent striker - we can't complain about the result. It's another embarrassment that will worsen our confidence and the mood in the dressing room. I assume that Selles is a dead man walking now and it's just a case o...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I can't see how much worse it could be a than in the bottom 2 of League 1 and losing to an injury time goal from a non league side on ITV1 on a Sunday afternoon... Don't get me wrong, I want better times, but given MB is pretty much in charge of all things football, I don't get how he gets absolved...
