Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Just to return the original topic for discussion, I was amused to notice tonight, that after a break from the football for the last couple of weeks, but rugby continuing regardless, the pitch looked in decent nick!

Who woulda thunk it?

Re: BFTG Bolton

Well, back in Manchester. First half was the quietest I have ever heard from us away. Second half was a bit noisier but only because of the deserved moans at our players. Lost count of how many times we moved the ball sideways; even more than our usual drill. Can't be arsed to do any player scores ...

Re: Question of Sport

Didn't she supposedly train with the men's team? I thought she trained with the Academy - physically more of a match. There's no particular reason I guess that they ever would have met or anything, but still, it's not just random from the women's team, it's the first player from a WSL2 team ever to...

Re: Supporters Player of the Season

McShane all day long. If I was forced into two more picks I'd go for Norwood and possibly HRK (two fingers to the haters) Al-Habsi has done well of late but he wasn't even starting earlier in the season. Credit to him for making the jersey his own but probs not getting a POTS vote. +1 for McShane I...

Re: Record Watch 2015/16

tidus_mi2 Northampton drew so their maximum is down to 107.

They have to win all 7 remaining games to beat 106 and there is now no combination where they can equal the record, it's win all or bust.

Have to say I was willing Mansfield Town to hang on, despite me having zero interest in that club hitherto .

Re: Bottle, Heart, Commitment, Guts: "The Reading DNA"

You contradict yourself, Sir Noel Hunt was often injured doing exactly what we have discussed and, incidentally, the tenor of my remarks in this discussion have nothing to do with stupidity, but in COMMITMENT as for Gunter, sure he ducked his head a bit low and got a kick. Now how many times in the...

Re: Bottle, Heart, Commitment, Guts: "The Reading DNA"

And anyway, whether someone is languid or not doesn't preclude guts, going in where it hurts. Compare Noel Hunt to Simon Church, for example. Who have we got that we could think are "heroic"? McShane, El Habsi, Quinn might be But neither of our fullbacks, or Norwood, or Kermogant. or HRK,...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

I will be delighted if Irish get relegated if it means it's not financially viable to stay at the madjeski and go elsewhere. I will be delighted if Irish get relegated and go elsewhere, so I can enjoy all of the efforts of some nobbers to explain why the pitch is just as bad after a winter of heavy...

Re: Would you take Vydra permanently?

Of all those suggestions, the only one that even sort of works is Anton Ferdinand. You need the emphasis to be on the last syllable of the name or it sounds wrong.

Surely our fans can learn another tune????

Re: Dislike ex-Reading players

Depression and other psychological issues are reasons for not being in the right frame of mind to play, regardless of how much you get paid. Granted, that may not have been the case here, but it is a valid reason. Although I suspect that if any player pulls out of a game and says they are suffering...

Re: Green Park Match Day Parking

The buses from Tilehurst are all full on the way there. On the way back you have to miss the end of the game - as they take extra passengers you can't get on. It can take a good 15 minutes from the final whistle to get out of our seats in the East Stand due to congestion in the gangways. Which Tile...

Re: BFTG - WBA

Anyway, as to McLean and poppies etc. My understanding is that our soldiers in all the wars fought and died to keep our freedoms. The choice of poppy or no poppy is one of those freedoms. Mind you, to not wear a poppy because of your republicanism seriously misses the point. The red poppy commemora...
