Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Probably a mix of both. I suspect things were just as dire in the autumn, we know SCL had to step in and we had a mix of late wage payments, HMRC defaults and suppliers leaving. The difference now is we have the suspended EFL penalty. But I also wonder if in the autumn there was optimism that the cl...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h)

Our tickets aren't £30. You're looking at £20 average once taking into account kids, students, seniors etc., then presumably you have higher stewarding and policing costs. But probably possible to envisage an extra £80k a game or so if people respond, or £400k over the remaining season.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Well aren't all of you right? For some it's a family day out, for some it's a day on the piss with their friends, for some it's a place they can escape from life for a few hours, others something they keep in touch will from a distance and a connection to their home town. Whatever it means to you, t...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Given SCL have stepped in several times already this season and there has been uncertainty every month, I do wonder if Howe's update yesterday was simply par for the course but communicated more openly. Still bad news of course and the EFL are being much stricter now, but I can't work out whether I'...

Absolutely zero chance an administrator agrees to work for us without a reputable person agreeing at the outset to cover costs.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

It should never have come to this. Yes, it's losing money but all clubs do. There are enough investors willing to lose money on football clubs and we have enough going for us that we're worth buying. It all comes back to the cnut who simply won't sell.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Pompey fans raised £2.5m for their club. Why can't Reading do similar? Even £500k would probably get us over March's key obligations and buy more time for a deal until late April. It wouldn't, from what I heard this morning it's much worse than that. And the issue is the lack of trust in Dai, you'r...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

I think we could raise quite a lot of money. It's an affluent area, SJM and other local businesses could chip in not to mention a few ex players. We may be able to pull together enough to buy an extra couple of months. I'd want to know about control of any such fund if they started one. Ideally STAR...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

In terms of points deduction, it won't make any difference to whether the players agree to a wage deferral or not. It's going to be hard to get anyone to invest in the club whilst Dai appears to be acting in bad faith. Any idea how much Howe has involved Dai? Any risk we get a repeat of Genevra whe...

Re: Rival Watch

3-1 now. If Cheltenham run out of steam, we may only need 45 points or so. Carlisle are done, Fleetwood have a lot of ground to make up and Vale seem to be in a death spiral on the pitch. Cheltenham are the threat.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

It just needs one buyer show some urgency and force the issue. The company I work for has done a few acquisitions in the past few years, and they generally move slowly until somebody with authority decides they want it to be done, at which point it gets done. You may not get the perfect deal, but yo...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Am I right there's a cut off to apply deductions for new offences? So even if we are late with everything 2 more points is the limit this season? Obviously we don't want to start next season on negative points and the risk is ultimately liquidation. Anybody telling Dai how serious this is? This will...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

If the money is running out a month sooner than planned, could SCL step in one last time? It sounds like late April was always the timescale Howe had in mind. How very painful this all is. I just dream of against either Northampton, Lincoln or Blackpool we can celebrate a new owner and L1 survival. ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Feels like the noise is ramping up. Hopefully we'll have some genuine progress in the next couple of weeks. Yes I agree, certainly seems to be more communications coming out of the club now compared to before Christmas, we can hope. Think if it all comes to nothing we'll know soon too. Crunch coupl...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

How many times have we been asked to be patient in the past year? The statement about manager / player recruitment last June? One about investment/ a sale in September? After Vale got abandoned in January? Surely at some point they need to stop asking for patience and just end this fcuking shitshow?...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

One thing from Howe's interview yesterday and Bowen's statement is that a lot of our value (probation the vast majority of it) is in our real estate. Without that, you have a loss making L1 football club. It must mean loads of interested parties are totally unsuited; we don't need a real estate deve...
