Re: The Magic Number Thread

Points need based on average PPG for all sides = 45
Points need as average survival in L1 over last 5 years = 46
RFC average PPG season to date = 49 (say 47 with suspended points taken off)

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Lot's of Twitter chatter about a consortium fronted by Bergkamp, Koeman and a few others looking for a club in L1/L2. You imagine we'd be a great fit with our location, facilities and academy. A good academy in particular aligns with the Ajax way these guys would be familiar with. Pure speculation ...

Re: Rival Watch

windermereROYAL Results not at all too bad tonight so far.

Agree, apart from Port Vale, but they've got some hard games coming up after tonight and I guess it leaves Fleetwood in a very bad position now.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Dennis Bergkamp, Dirk Kuyt, Henrik Larsson & Ronald Koeman are apparently looking to buy a club up to L1 in a good location with potential.....I wonder if they've bid?

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

How I see it, Bowen was told in the summer that Dai remained committed. He was lied to. We signed some good players for this level under that pretence, and now we can't afford them. So there is definitely a sporting fairness issue. What does our summer look like if we know from the outset that Dai ...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Is there a cut-off point for points deductions? The season ends on the 27th of April. Could there be a situation where we stay up by a point, then get deducted points because we missed a payment at the end of April, or May even? I think (but not 100% certain) it's the same as the old transfer deadl...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Yeah we have the quality to get out comfortably. The concern is whether heads go like they did last year or we use it to galvanise another push for the next couple of months. Obvs the latter is preferable I think a lot of last season was the messaging from the manager and how negative that often wa...

Royals and Racers SBWD have issued new statement.

I sometimes think SBWD need to consider the bigger picture and why these punishments are levied.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

A couple of things about that statement, who are other "identified football creditors"? The racking up of fines is understandable but stupid IMHO. The fine came about from a frankly unrealistic demand to meet 2.25 times the normal months wages with a months notice in a situation where the...

So basically reading the announcement if we are one day late paying tax between now and the end of the season the suspended 2 points will be activated.

Re: Rival Watch

Tonight`s results are far more relevant now. deduction hasn`t come off yet but we will be 20th if Charlton get at least a point. Charlton would need to win to go above us, given they are away to Derby this is unlikely. I hope the announcement isn't made todsy as it will give all the sides around us...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

EFL are enforcing rules voted on by their members, so their hands are tied. Shows the game can't regulate itself as clubs will also vote in self interest. A team that really should be getting relegated might stay up because there are rules that kick us when we're down. They have to look after their...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

F*cking EFL - they seem to deliberately string out the process and hit us at the last moment. IMO their claims to care about the club are absolute crap. They are very definitely not fit for purpose. Football doesn't just have an ownership problem, it clearly also has a governance problem. Doubtless...

WestYorksRoyal Another nothing update from the STAR meeting with Howe today. Seems like a load of procrastination. Not by Howe, but by the man he's negotiating for.

It would be good to understand how much money is left from the player sales. This again wasn't covered.

Re: On this day

41 years ago today...Reading 1-1 Southend, a third tier game watched by circa 2500 at Elm Park. For those interested, Gary Donnellan scored a late equaliser. For anyone moaning about our wide players today, believe me Donnellan was twice as bad. Why call this game out? Because there are remarkable p...

windermereROYAL Few games that could impact our position in the table on Tuesday. all the teams below us are playing.

Burton (home to Carlisle) and Shrewsbury (away at Lincoln) will both move above Reading if they get a point or more on Tuesday.

Some right melts overreacting to today. It was a bad result and bad performance, it happens even to the best team in this league. This squad must be out on its feet after such a packed schedule in February. Respond with 4 or 6 points from Carlisle and Wycombe and all is fine. Agreed, On a level pla...

Re: Rival Watch

Looking at it now I'd say its any 2 from Exeter downwards along with Carlisle and Fleetwood. Fleetwood are fighting hard but it looks like they have too much ground to make up, they likely need circa 2 points a game which isn't likely. Worry for Port Vale, tough run in, loads of catch up games and t...
