MR. CYNICAL Can i ask why a goalkeeper , who generally does sod all except having to make a few saves, needs a rest and if he does, he could at least be on the bench.

I'd say it was more to minimise the risk of any injury. us 'keepers are known for putting our bodies in harms way from time to time!

I don't see 1 chorus of this at the beginning/warmup stage doing any harm, as long as for the game proper we're focussing on the current incumbants of the hoops
