If we get it wrong now by risking too much on players who may not deliver much because they are past their best, or on players for whom we would have to break the wage structure we will be in a much weaker position to bounce back if we do get relegated. Of course we all want to see the club in the b...

Good post Arch. I do think Carrick could also have made a difference. He did against Ecuador when his forward passing completion was far and away the best from any England player in the tournament. Reading showed last year that it really doesn't need wholesale changes to transform a very average tea...

Oh Jesus, RR is on his "I told you so" crusade. What a tosser. How about "He was right and I shouldn't have called him an amoeba brain"? Right about what, exactly? That we shouldn't have played Gary Neville :? That we shouldn't have played Hargreaves :? That 7/1 was a great price for Ecuador to tur...

had the side lost to Trinidad and Tobago, Ecuador or Paraguay, there would have been uproar. But in those performances, everything was signalled for the eventual defeat. It was just a case of looking . IMO. As has been quite obvious for the last 2 weeks papereyes, most people are totally blind to t...

Many people have Brazil as their 2nd team, because over the years they have generally played free flowing beautiful football more often than any other nation, and that's really what people want to see.

I really don't mind out of the other 3. I just want to see some great football, befitting of the occasion.

To be fair to SDR I don't recalll him ever withdrawing his support for Coppell; his tirades over the last couple of years were directed at The Chairman IIRC. Anyway, it is of course quite obvious that those wise individuals who were bold enough to state their displeasure with the Coppell regime have...

I don't think he's a particularly good finisher, and I think he creates most of his own goals rather than feeding off other players. Ok, he might have a better quality of ball delivered next season, but he's been like that for years at Reading, so I'm not just talking about last season. In any case,...

Oh bloody hell, don't take it so seriously Nomad.

Of course it doesn't stand up to scrutiny, but the response was quick, short, to the point and made me chuckle.

What I meant was that I'm confused as to whether you're pro or anti Coppell. I don't hang on your every word but I detect confusing messages at times! Oh and Forster - good player - overrated by Reading fans - nobody ever established a partnership with him which I believe held us back. I like him, h...

Royalee
Platypuss That manager who had Sidwell on loan at both Brentford and Brighton must have a good eye for talent and is able to get them to join a club on loan. Maybe we should get rid of Coppell and get him in instead?

The same manager who couldn't attract him to sign permanently over Pardew.

Nice retort.
