Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I noticed that STAR are running a sponsor a player for £1000 scheme. Not a bad idea, but why is it being run through STAR? They're the official liaison between the club and it's supporters - would imagine this is right in their wheelhouse. Plus I don't think supporters would be very trusting giving...

From Despair To Where? The STAR tweet reads very much like "Let's not take anything for granted"

Exactly how I read it as well.

They have two days to pay HMRC. Squeaky bum time.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Just means this takeover is massive for us. If it all goes tits up for the incoming owners, we'll be protected by the regulator. This is the moment of maximum peril. Ridiculous to see the PL opposing it but not surprising. I wonder where their fans sit. Certainly, I would expect most "legacy f...

In other big news, the Gov has finally pulled its finger out and the Football Governance Bill is getting an airing on Tuesday. Too late for us, but regulator in coming. oxf*rd you PL. Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Best mid-sized European sports Arena as awarded by ESPN US if I remember correctly. That's the chappie It's quite unusual in that the outside and concourse are above the pitch, so disabled fans can get in and be at a level to get a decent view. It sort of makes sense. if you dig down to put the pit...

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

A ‘regulator’!!!! It’s such a bizarre response. Just think about what you are saying. 1) Who pays for it (look out for the gravy train) 2) Who decides what they regulate and what they don’t? 3) And what does it mean - another layer of bureaucracy… more cost to fans …. Be careful what you wish for. ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Totally agree. The trick is to get promoted back to the Championship though and jobs a good'un! But then your entire strategy relies upon promotion. Sustainable? You can build a good team, but it can all be ruined by any number of external factors. Ref howler in a big game. ACL injury to key player...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I think part of the downfall is that the talent nurtured in the academy get agents, these agents insert release clauses or stop their client signing professional contracts, so the talent goes on the cheap or for free- but with a hefty sign on bonus for the player and agent. They're undermining the ...

I'm extremely frustrated that a poster I'd never seen before The Green Programme started talking about financial regulation and I wasnt there to discuss it.

God dammit.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

If it’s profitable why would you need owners with money to keep it afloat The problem is an academy is profitable based on clubs wanting the assets that are produced here OR the club doing that well that the assets take the club back to the Premier League. The second seems a bit off at the moment b...

Snowflake Royal
From Despair To Where? Don't think anyone's ever described our stadium as amazing. In comparison to Dean Court maybe.

It's identikit 90's

iirc it won an award not long after completion

Re: Wycombe will be culpable.

I don't know what it means for the club if it falls through. You don't get liquidated immediately after 1 default. It would mean the 2 points deducted, potentially administration and relegation. But all these options are better than losing Bearwood, it's great news if it forces Dai to sell the club...

I don't know about the history of Cork City, but a quick glance on Wikipedia says they upgraded their stadium in 2006 which suggests they were hardly at death's door. Re: Wycombe will be culpable.

When Reading bought Kevin Doyle for £60k, and then bought out the remaining clauses in the contract from Cork for a pittance when they were about to go out of business, and it was obvious to everyone that he was worth multiple millions, were we culpable? Yes i suppose. But we still did it. I don't ...

Re: Sign this to stop Dai Yongge selling Bearwood to Wycombe

It won't be owned by Wycombe though. They'll just rent it and that's how the owner will make money from it. They may even try renting it to us too, as it could probably sustain 2 clubs The other option would be hawking it out by the week to someone like the Brazilian FA as a European training base ...
