WTF? Whats there to be happy with? A home draw against a league 1 side would be a good draw?

Ressies away to Newcastle = OUT. FACT

Birmingham would be an alright trip and Newcastle would be even better.

Who says Coppell will play the reserves if we do alright in the league between now and then and even more Premiership teams get knocked out?

Coppell.

As if we're gonna win the thing playing our reserve side each round.

I'd rather lose to Newcastle than lose to say Nottingham Forest, at least then it wont be classed as a "cup shock"

Matt de K
floyd__streete It'll be the usual p*ss-poor draw won't it? Someone in our own league or another Championship team probably :x

:?: :?: So then, er, remind me whats more appealing??

Someone in our own league - Newcastle.

Championship team - Birmingham.

Either of those hugely appeal to you? No, me neither!

Ginger Ninjas Not a very interesting draw - if Portsmouth or Forest had been drawn at home would have been two decent matches for tv. If Reading took this competition seriousl we'd have a chance, the draw is pretty open with Arsenal vs Bolton and Man Utd vs Pompey eliminating two top 6 teams, and Liverpool already gone.

It's pretty irrelevant. We aren't interested in doing well in it, if we get through and Newcastle do then I'll go for the piss up. If Birmingham get through then I'll take the hit on the ticket and not go.

floyd__streete Typically p*ss-poor draw that. I almost don't care whether we get through tomorrow now!

Agreed.

Typical Reading in the Cup.

Terrible draw.

We'll see.

Either way, I'd love to go up to Newcastle again as it was brilliant last month.

From a selfish point of view I want it to be Newcastle (assuming we win) as I think I'll be guranteed to get Manchester Coty tickets if we have Newcastle the week before and I'm planning a big weekend for that.

From a reading football team point of view I hope its Birmingham as its the easier draw and the team wont have to travel all the wya to newcastle again.......

Brum would be interesting given the switch in fortunes of the two teams, but with Brum topping the Championship will they rest players as we did....

How far we've come

Only a couple of seasons ago this would have been a tip-top draw.

As it is, I'm pretty chuffed as I can't make it anyway.
