Not sure goalkeeping/defence are our only problem.

Expecting/demanding a clean sheet away to Everton is a pretty tall order. We only conceded one. I'd have probably taken that before the game. Heck, you figured Andy Johnson alone would be good for one goal against us, as he usually is :P

After getting lucky with the own goal, if we had gone on and scored more and killed the game off we might not even be talking about the defence. Or maybe we would - we might be praising them. :?

Ian Royal Hunt doesn't have the quality of many in our team but he was a massive thorn in Everton's side today and without him I'm confident they would have taken us apart.

Based on what, exactly? What a lazy point.

How would Everton have improved above mediocre if, say, Convey had played instead?

Since when did we sit back? We were pushing at them all game thats why it was end to end through out the second half.

It's my opinion Platy, it is nothing like a lazy point.

Hunt broke up a fair few of their attacks and kept driving at Everton unsettling them. The final ball wasn't there, you'll have no arguement from me on that, but I think without the constant threat of his driving runs I feel Everton would have dominated much more and penned us back in our half. Which IMO would have led to more goals for them.

Gunny Fishcake Hahnemann yet again cost us valuable points , the man is a liability .His kicking is a joke , his fumbling getting worse and his abilty to command the six yard box for a man of his size is a farce . He'll do for the season but long term we need a quality keeper

I agree that he was at fault for this goal but the same can be said for the second goal that Federici conceded against Burnley. I'm afraid thats a goalkeepers lot and people will always focus on negatives and mistakes instead of the positives. I still have upmost faith in Marcus.

A draw away at a so called 'top eight' team is no mean feat particularly after the ease they beat us at our place. Finally I hope those fans who have slagged off DE La Cruz choke on their criticism. A top display from him.

Immediately before the goal we had the ball in defence and just wellied it away. Everton picked it up and back it came...

So where was the cultured playing it out of defence? Or at the worst kick it towards a Reading player hoping he could hold it up. Wild hacks just come straight back. I blame whoever hacked it upfield as much as Hahnemann.

LoyalRoyal22 How can Hahnemann be the weakest player? Hunt played.

......and of course Hunt is rubbish and had absolutely no impact on the game, especially our goal.

Well if u think he did anything else then your a blind idiot then arnt you?

I must be a blind idiot too as I saw Hunt add a fair amount to that game. Oh, and I can write English, which makes me better than you.

Marcus is a great bloke , but that's not good enough long term , just wish he'd dominate his box a lot more , he's not a bad keeper just at this level you get punished like today and my knee is not jerking it's knackered with bust ligaments at present

Perhaps not, but they make misakes that Marcus doesn't. Then he makes one that they wouldn't and it all evens up. I'm not saying that Marcus is the best keeper in the Prem, but he's by no means the worst. And by no means is he our "weak link". I don't think we have one in particular.

Too be honest I think Marcus comes off his line far too often, 3 times today. Man Utd as well just to name a few. Needs to learn from this, as for needing a new keeper, rubbish. As in life, learn from your mistakes and move on
