Rooney Out of FA Cup Game

by Big Ern » 04 Feb 2007 16:43

Wayne Rooney has just picked up his 5th booking of the seaosn against Spurs so will now miss the home tie against us at Old Trafford

Lets hope May Utd also suffer another 10 red cards today and we might be able to get them back for a replay

Bless 'em.

Let's hope Ronaldo picks up an injury in the second half today.

I hope not, he's had a woeful game. Some ridiculous bookings (Vidic instead of Scholes, Chimbonda and Larsson for nothing incidents) and missed clear penalties at both ends only to give one for a dive.

Good news on Rooney though, he probably wouldn't have started the FA Cup match but not even the opportunity to bring him on if they're in need now.

Unfortunately, any red cards gained today would lead to a suspension from the next game (i.e. next Saturday's league game) as opposed to the "after 7 day" timescale for 5 bookings. Hopefully Rooney won't pick up another booking today.

Rooney wouldn't have played in the game anyway.

He may not have started, but I would imagine he would have been on the bench like he was against Pompey,

Not now Saha is fit and with a champions league game on the Tuesday.

I think Reading will win if Coppell picks a strong side or at the very least get a replay.

I'm hoping for a replay, 4,500 United down for an evening game would be interesting to say the least.

I'd like to see that aswell, we havn't had 4000 away fans in ages. Last was Birmingham in the 4th round last year.

Great news, Rooney was the difference against a resolute Pompey when he came on.

We can do it.

Remember Di Canio.

doesn't that have something to do with the South stand being half full of Royals usually.
