Anyone know the date of the first weekend of fixtures in the Prem and the Championship for next season?

Not definite, but I would imagine the start of the CCC will be Saturday 11th August with the Premiership starting a week later (Saturday 18th August).

Think it's a week earlier

CCC starts on the 4th August
Prem on the 11th August

Due to the European Championships at the end of the season.

That Friday Feeling Go on holiday in June

HTH

I'm going in July, but I'm going to be away either 4/5 August or 11/12 August and I need to decide which.

Can I safely assume the Prem won't be starting on 4/5 August?

Yes

From Premierleague.com

The Premier League will kick off its 2007/08 season on Saturday 11th August 2007. Barclays Premiership 2007/08 fixtures will be released in June 2007 and made available here on premierleague.com.

Of course, I can't follow my own advice - I go on 3rd August so praying our first game is away from home.

Prem starts on the 11th, I'm back from hols on 17th so I'm banking on the festival on the 25th forcing an away start (watched on telly in 'rife) home on the 18th then away again festival weekend, although an early midweek game might knacker this. Having said that, when's the first round of the UEFA cup?

They do tend to play 3 games first week so that may well see us home on both the 11th and 18th with an away midweek game in the middle.

First round of UEFA is usually mid-September.

All Premier League clubs go straight into the first round proper, so I would expect that it will be around the 20th or earlier due to Euro 2008

I believe that all the English sides that qualify "properly" for the UEFA cup (i.e. not via the back door of the Intertoto) enter the first round proper - this year the sides were Spurs, West Ham and Blackburn.
