by knights_1990 » 16 Jun 2007 13:26

I feel it is time for us to predict what happens next year now. It may be a little early but we can always predict again a little closer to the campaign.

Champions league places
Man Utd
Chalsea
Liverpool
Newcastle

Europe
Reading
Arsenal
Sunderland

Relegation
West Ham (hopefully)
Derby
Birmingham

This is what i feel will happen.

I think we'll either win the league, get relegated or finish somewhere in between.

Absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to predict the league table for next season without delaying this until the beginning of August by which time about three or four signings will have been brought in by each club on average. At the moment I'd have us in the bottom half, but I believe we'll bring in some players between now and the start of the season.

To be fair that's how I see it with a few exceptions. Utd will finish top, Newcastle and Villa will finish mid - table, Boro a lot lower and ourselves and Bolton a few places higher.

1. Man Ure
2. Liverpool
3. Arsenal
4. Cheski
5. Spurs
6. Blackburn
7. Everton
8. Aston Villa
9. Reading
10. Sunderland
11. Wigan
12. Newcastle
13. Wet Sham
14. Portsmouth
15. Bolton
16. Middlesboro
17. Birmingham
18. Fulham
19. Derby
20. Man City

I think Man City will struggle. They haven't yet got a manager. Their takover has gone down the pan for the time being.
Fulham is going to be another Watford if they play the long ball tactic. Some of their players already want out.
Boro will struggle without Viduka.
The impact of the BUNG affair will influence Portsmouth and Newcastle in a negative way - who knows... perhaps Big Sam and Harry Redknap will get the sack. Derby are resilient but I fear they struggled a bit in the Championship when it mattered and that will show in the Premiership. Birmingham will be lucky to escape.
Wigan have signed some interesting players and will do better than people may think.
The big negative surprise will be Bolton. I don't think Sammy Lee will be able to do what big Sam did.

Far too early to make predictions with so little transfer activity either at Reading or other clubs. One thing for sure, West ham will not struggle with all the millions at their disposal. If Wally Downes, as quoted in Friday's post thinks Bryn is a long term replacement for Sidwell then I am worried.
