Interesting, not overly sure what to make of those comments though.

Seems fair enough to me, not sure SC and his team mates will be so impressed though.

Matejovsky finds his voice

by Nezhen » 13 Mar 2008 14:26

Matejovsky has quite rightly brought some home truths out about the selfishness with which the likes of Kitson have played over the last few weeks whilst we have been spiralling down the league. Good to see that he speaks his mind and won't be taken for a fool by the established players at the club. :D

"Strikers are selfish" shock.

Maybe Czech strikers are different but having watched Milan Baros i doubt it.

He has a point though.

Doyle was the most guilty on Saturday. Desperate for a goal I guess...........

We we all knew that the Balding Guy sat quietly during matches, we've now had it confirmed from a player that he is just as silent during training.

I quote from the article...

Mr Coppell is the boss but basically he does nothing during training.

Bit of a kick in the nuts for SC who has recently praised the lad.

He has opinions which is fine and well, however not sure if it is a good idea to share them as he has done. P**s Copell off, and you don't play seems to be the case (Lita).

So? Why is that a surprise for anyone? He's a manager, but he uses the coaches (WD & KD) to manage training.

It is possible to seem to be doing nothing when you're doing a lot of observing and thinking.

Your comment about Coppell being quiet just confirms that you are indeed SDR.

doyle, lita, and kitson have been obviously guilty of refusing the easy pass and going for goal since january, i can remember instances from all that should have gone to their wide open partner but was blasted wide/over instead, he is right.

and managers/coaches here are different to the continent, its no surprise he has noticed the difference

here coaches coach, managers manage.

fair enough

im not sure how much of his words are criticism, and how much its the press trying to create a criticism

What!!!

No I am not SDR, it was mentioned in a previous attack on my fine character that I was as he used to use nicnames and one called The Quiet One was mentioned, I did consider the Quiet Balding Guy, but that didn't have the same ring to it.

One day, SDR whoever he is will come back and post and you will all see that you are so wrong and I'll be doing my victory dance, oh yes.

Quite.

No-one at the club will give a stuff about this except perhaps to warn him about the behaviour of the press.

If i'm honest, i'm reading the article and thinking "This is so goddarned true... finally."

Then i think, he hasn't been learning English for long, maybe the Journalists have twisted his words?

Still. No criticisms, he doesn't sound like he's insulting anyone, just having a whine at the lack of passing done. I agree, passing is the way forwards. :)

Most strikers will shoot instead of pass, most of the time.

Tell me one who didn't?

teddy sheringham would often pass to open partners

i think the boy(maybe going for the captaincy?!) is just highlighting certain attempts at goal from all three of our older strikers during th elast couple of months that were so obviously stupid and selfish

kitson did one recently when doyle was 10 yards to his left wide open and waving his arms, kiston tried to take on two defenders and tried a speculative and ultimately ridiculous attempt at goal instead

doyle and lita have done the same

i dont care about strikers being selfish
but to exchange a decent one on one with the keeper chance, for a distance shot through a defence is just criminal,

I thought of Teddy as an exception, but to find others is difficult.

Nicky Forster wasn't one of them.
