How much do you think? You're desperate for the money and seeing as anything could happen in the future (i.e form dips or injury) we wouldn't want to gamble too much.

£400k / £500k?

Figures being mentioned are 200k/300k....depending on the currency (Euro or Sterling).

So Doyle is worth 2-3million (depending on currency)??

Seriously... wow..

Although I think Doyle will be here for a couple of seasons at least now, so I guess the instant cash is more important to Cork with their money woes.

Why are you bothered about what Village has to say?
He don't care about RFC.

€200k is what I have read. That is an absolute steal from our point of view.

The new owner of Cork must really need some money quick....

If he was off in January Cork wouldn't agree to that.

As I've said he's not going anywhere in January anyway. He'll stay till the end of the season at least.

Sign 3 year contract = Puts his value up by 2mill, so either way, we are keeping doyle, or getting more money out of him.

None of this convinces me he's guaranteed to stay in January.
This is just RFC with its sound financial head on ensuring that when he does go it will (hopefully) be for a monster fee that won't be eroded by having CCFC take a big slice.

Surely this suits everyone.

Cork get the money they need now.

Reading get to pay less of a fee than they might otherwise have to.

Doyle doesn't have to feel he's denying Cork by not moving ... well, he says he doesn't want to go anywhere.

Everyone's happy.

Interestingly the statement on the OS simply says we have paid the final amount due as part of the transfer. It doesn't say we have bought out any buy back deal.
It could simply be that there was a payment due on scoring 50 goals....

I think more logical that they had a sell-on clause if he moved within his original contract period, which converted to an additional payment of some kind if he signed a new contract with us. Although now i think of it, this contract is actually his third with us, so I could be talking absolute rubbish .... just for a change

So is 10% the entire sell-on clause?

ie Cork will not get a penny if he moves on in the future?
