Royalee Jamie Carragher and John Terry are both very slow...

Those two are established England internationals, Alex Pearce struggles to deal with anything

In relation to Ingi he has been a "Rock" and probably has no more than a season left in him at Championship level.
I prefer him in the team to Pearce who has a lot to learn.

The problem Pearce has is that he has been burdened with the vice captains role. Good management would have left him with the sole responsibility of defending rather than having to look after other members of the squad/team.

The captain's role hasn't made much difference to Pearce's game really. He's the one who leads the line and orders everyone about anyway because his accent is easier to understand and he shouts the loudest. I'm sure that's what he'd say. He's the 'Con Air' of the team.

Alex Pearce is shite, noone that slow at 20 is going to turn into a world class centre-back at 24 - just aint gonna happen

John terry was a nippy little oxf*rd at 20, he just needed tuning, his awareness evolved over the years

Jonny Fordham comments on Twitter:

Talent wise I would say best pairing is O'Dea and Mills. BR won't change #readingfc team while while still unbeaten though

Ivar can still do a job- but £2million for Mills and sit on the bench?! Could be Ivar's last full season at #readingfc

Pearce is a damn good player and can be likened to Keth McPherson in that while he is slow he
makes up for it by being able to read the game well. He would also appear to be a ball playing centre back so should fit in well with the way BR is developing the squad.

All he needs is more experience and perhaps a while playing in a team that is more confident and not under quite so much pressure.

He does not read the game well at all !!

All he needs is more' PACE, AWARENESS AND ABILITY' and then he would be great!!

pearce is a decent player, and may come good enough to progress further- with more experience
CBs one of those positions where inexperience shows- nowt to do with abilityhe has good positioning generally, but occasionally allows himself to bne dragged out of position
he is good and calm on the ball, and organisationally strong.
he just lacks pace- which never hurt ivar, or planety of other class CBs

Put it this way, there would not be multiple rave reviews from multiple sources about Pearce for no reason.

Pot. Kettle. Change the record or try and look for a bit of shade between the black and white which is all you ever see.

Was he not completely at fault for the first goal then?
