I think we'll stay up with a couple of games to spare.

May you live in interesting times!!

4 points isn't an awful lot towards the bottom of the table. A couple of decent results and we're back out of the relegation places.

There's no way this squad goes down. However, if we lose our only CB with pace to Sheff Utd, then I may change my opinion. Mills must stay.

The 8 days between March 9th and March 16th incl will have a significant bearing whether we play Portsmouth or Rochdale next year, but alas I voted no, the damage has already been done.

Agree with Ark Royal I'm afraid, add the 87-88 Simod Cup season too.

Desperately hope I'm wrong though.....

Need to start scoring goals and get some more home wins to make me feel more optimistic.

Palace dropping 10 points will certainly help though!

I had us down to finish 14th at the start of the season and that's where I still think we'll finish give or take 1 position.

We have what 23 points so far? That's about 10 points behind 14th place I think.

How do you see us closing a gap that means us showing something like a 50% increase in performance between now and the end of the season?

Going down, but maybe no bad thing.......depends if we react like Norwich/Leicester or Bradford/Swindon........

Also I like the idea of keeping Maccy D even if he takes us down....give him time to sort the mess out......

Up.

And some team soon will be on the end of a beating when we convert our chances.

readingbedding Yes.

With Rodgers I didn't know if the players were good enough.
With McDermott I now know that they are.

spot on :D

Agreed. I think we are about to go on a nice run. Starting today.

I'm much less enthused by the cup run than everyone else. We clealry upped our game and had very specific tactics and we still only scrapped through both times. In all three games (regardless of league position and quality) the other team played very poorly with little threat of beating us and I think that was only partly to do with McDermott's tactics

None of the cup games, for me, showed that any of our problems this season had been solved. The most I can bring from them is the confidence to up our game against everyone and not panic so much so we keep things tighter at the back.

Agree with Schards - Thor is the key although Khiz and Griffin culd both prove crucial as well.

We need to significantly improve one of defence or attack. Both would see us shoot up the table IMO. I'm not convinced we've done enough with either to save us. I think we won't be looking even remotely safe (if we stay up) 'til the penultimate game of the season at the earlist. But we could be relegated several games before that. If you catch my drift.

LUX We are 4 points adrift of safety, could be more after tonight/tomorrow. Plymouth could well overtake us and still have a game in hand.

But we are playing well in the Cup and people can see progress.

Will we stay up? Yes or no?

I'm an RTG, but one who's "seen it all before". I'm bricking it

Be interesting come May to see who was right.

Lux - it pains me to say it, but I think you are a fool to think we aren't heading anywhere other than down.

Going down I'm afraid

This squad just doesn't have enough goals in it. One injury to Sig and we have naff all.

This was about 50-50 until the palace admin news broke...

4 points from next two games will see us looking up

I think we will stay up PROVIDED the cup-form transfers across to League games.
