loyalroyal4life For next game :

Pearce, Church, Cummings OUT

Kish, Hunt, Griff IN

This.

Church is just mince, Pearce is slower than an asthmatic snail with heavy shopping. In treacle. And Cummings is like a furtive woodland creature, actually frightened of the ball when in possesion.

We looked much more lively when Hunt came on.

Platypuss They're raving about Kebe on HOF and comparing him (favourably) with Henry. However the point was also frequently made that while it was hugely impressive skillz, very little was actually created.

The ghost of EP Gilkes lives on.

In all seriousness he did create a fair bit but he also fluffed a fair bit. However, he was getting into the righ positions and being an all round menace which is what we need. BTW his volley for the offside goal was proper good, even from where we were located.

The top 6 or 7 rows which were standing were pretty much the only fans in the whole ground making any noise.

Millwall fans were very disappointing....apart from the LOLegendary little chavs at the end.

Why DO Londoner's refer to them as Mill-WALL with the emphasis on the wall? My dad always has and he's a cockney. :|

A few points:

1) Lisbie's header whilst poor, was offside anyway. Wouldn't have counted.
2) Millwall fans made an impressive amount of noise for a 10k crowd, and much like Pompey, comes at you from three sides. LOL @ thinking them quiet
3) Cracking game of football, as exciting a 0-0 as you will see. Great point gained.
4) Not saying much more having watched the game through the eyes of Olde Trip and Gaymers.

That is complete and utter rubbish

Millwall fans were backing the team from start to finish and I was particularly fond of the way they barracked our players / the officials from ALL 3 sides

I almost wanted them to score first to see them celebrate and then come back and win with 2 late goals to see them despair ala Birmingham play off game

Haha :D

Have to say though, it'd be a pity to give up on Cummings so soon. Sounds like he's almost no confidence, which as BBC Berks were saying is a bt surprising given his not-bad performances before this match.

Let's hope BM can calm him and develop him.

Tbh I don't think having Mills b0ll0ck him every 2 minutes is the best of confidence boosters

Pompey noise from all three sides? Not this year, reminded me of vicarage road with the only noise coming from the opposite side of the stadium to the away fans.

And to whoever said Church has done nothing this season his movement for Jimmys goal on Saturday was brilliant. But yeah he's been anonymous the rest of the time.

It was if we were playing with 10 men last night - worst i've seen him play for us. He made Long look as if he had a good touch.

I would hope that he can't play any worse again. Winning goal this Saturday should sort him out!

Aren't alot of millwall fans still banned from home games? Am sure 10k Millwall fans make more noise than 15k RFC fans

I'm not entirely sure there is a debate there seeing as it's entirely 100% true.

Bucks Dave Good idea in their programme - a 1981 Reading Millwall programme was included as well as a description of all the players at that time.

Did it also include a description of the riot they caused.

I also seem to remember that, as a result, George Graham (their manager at the time) was going to concede us the match when a Reading fan laid one on him

Woodcote Royal My first game since March and some would consider me worthy of being sectioned for choosing to spend part of a rare day off at Millwall :P

An extremely entertaining (but somewhat lacking in quality) 0-0 in which both sides thoroughly deserved their point.

I was quite surprised to see us resort to 4-4-2 and I think McD may have taken this option more in defence than attack.

Whilst Kebe looked like he'd just been beamed down from the Starship Enterprise, so "not of this planet" did he appear when compared to the mere mortals with whom he shared the same pitch :| our extra striker only served to blunt a sharp end that has been looking more threatening with the still under rated Long up there on his own.

Whilst the defence still has room for improvement, the big plus for me was that it was seriously tested last night, admittedly rode it's luck at times but came out unscathed against a team in excellent form including a rock sold record at home.

Although I agree that Fed and Mills were excellent, I can't see Pearce keeping out Kish for much longer and when Griffin returns, I don't think there will be many better rear guards at this level.

Whatever some may feel about our strike options a solid defence is where any assault on the upper echelons of this division must begin. On this basis, we, along with at least half of this division are in with a shout of top flight footy next season.

So, East Stand, how about putting those boos and demos on hold whilst this goal remains within our grasp

But why give the other, stronger, teams a head start. Only the completely myopic could claim that our strike options are not rather lacking in quality and depth. Furthermore, it is quite clear that there are some quality strikers out there (Vaughan's first two games with Palace have been pretty damn impressive). So having got a fantastic deal on The Sig, why won't the club reinvest just a little of that money in signing just one such striker and giving us a decent chance of competing effectively at this level?!

Isn't that a bit like asking why we call it RED-ing? If that's how they say it in those parts, that's what it is.
