Sterner tests to come for him but it would be good for him and the club if he make the position his own particularly as he is young and does have pace.

Thata good to hear Brendy, felt really sorry for him last year when he was taking the butt of everyones anger, no doubt Griffen will come straight back when he is fit, but, we have promising cover and replacement for him. Well done McD and Cummings obviously a lot of work has been done.

Even Dellor on the radio was commenting on how good SC was. And magnanimous enough to have said that he gave him awful stick last season.

How does BMcD do it? He turns Kebe into one of the most exciting players the club has had in ages. Has he done the same with Shaun? Too early to say so let's see how things pan out.

Amazing stuff. He actually looked relaxed on the ball and passing was good.

What next? Pearce getting Usain-Bolt-style pace?

McD is also working wonders with the strikers, especially Long and Church.

Coppell's strength was turning water into wine and is probably the most important quality in a manager.

Brian is proving to be able to the same so far but as mentioned above, I hope he's able to do it with strikers too...

Long may it continue.

I think there's every doubt the way Cummings is playing. It's his spot to lose now.

Best game in a Reading shirt by a long way but quite frankly he will have much sterner tests. The fact remains, though, that he was given a torrid time by Lloyd Dyer, taken to the cleaners on more than one occasion by the Palace left winger, was reasonably solid at Millwall, and was nowhere to be seen for Middlesbrough's first half goals last week. Patronisingly, his application is always second to very very few, but when it comes to the crunch he isn't good enough. As soon as Griffin is fit again, Cummings should make way.

If everyone on here had their way, Kebe would have been forced out long ago. Mills would wave been gone after 2 games. Cummings should certainly be long gone.

Maybe, just maybe the management know a little bit more than the HNA massive??!

He even brought a few step-overs and Cruyff turns out of his locker today!

I think you're being a little harsh on him there Handbags. Against Leicester he played his first game in nearly a year and out of position.

He's one of the new breed of RBs ala Glen Johnson. He's main threat is attacking from deep, something we saw very little of last year. As his confidence increases, this will get only get better and more effective. The defensive side of his game clearly still needs work but lets not forget that he's still young and very inexperienced. In a position as technical as full back you need games to improve and I think we're seeing that.

One for the future and I hope he will prove to be the long term option for us

I thought he and Kebe have a good little partnership going. The kid is doing well at the moment. With him growing in confidence, Kebe won't have to track back so much. This will be win win situation with Kebe grilling LB's for fun and Cummings doing his defensive duties. Only now for BMcD to do something with Marcus "I'm a quality LB" Williams. Either do something useful mate, or do one.

Looked even better for the game tonight.

Must be a real boost for him hearing his name sung from the stands.

My MoM. He was everywhere. His quality was summed up by the crunchingly well timed tackle on the edge of our D in the final few minutes to deny a clear run on goal. Slight mistime and it was a free-kick right in front of goal, or the player skipped over him to be one on one. As it was he took man and ball and came out of the tackle with the ball under control.

Last year I had my doubts but I can now see why BR thought that he had it. What he has needed was a touch of confidence and some strong guidance. Both seem to be there now.

not only his technical game, but also his sheer ballsyness to recover so well from what was a terrible start here
