Except when it comes to the FA Cup - that'll be ESPN and ITV, mate
sky started the ball rolling

suckers (like many on here) have bought into it

Espn have joined the gravy train, changed kick-off times and also charge you to watch what once was free

mate

When were there 5 3rd round games on for free? In fact did there even used to be 2 (as this weekend)?

Prolly IN for this btw, i don't go away that often but I've dished the club enough money in the past to be at the front of the queue and no amount of crying from someone who disagrees with that system is going to change it.

COME AND PLAY FOR THE FANS' TEAM, SFERS!

Mr Angry I went to those interminable Welling games all those Years ago, so I should have priority!!

Incidentally, anyone else think its ironic that there is an argument about whether or not fans who saw Reading play a Premiership team should get priority to watch Reading play a League 2 team!!

:D

I work with the Welling left back from those games, so I should get priority

imo those who have had season tickets for over twenty years are clearly in it for th elong term, and wont be going anywhere soon.

all efforts to attract/keep fans should be focussed on the johnny come latelys as they are more likely to just wander off.

as a result i believe stevenage tickets should be made available to people with 0 points first, and increase it day by day till you get to the half season ticket buyers from 05/06.

I think it should be people who went to the WBA game > Royalty Points

The problem with that system, is that WBA was a one off game, and there will be those who couldn't make it because of unavoidable commitments.

Much fairer to give priority based on a larger sample.

I'm alright either way so my concern for the matter is 0%

Why?

The whole purpose of the Royalty point system is to reward the people who support the club on a long term basis. It seems to me to be far and away the fairest system you could have

If you've supported the club long term then you'd have attended the WBA game too

In all likelihood you would already have purchased your ticket and just been unable to use it.

MmmMonsterMunch
Lowerwestjnr Why should season ticket holders get priority? For the thousands of season ticket holders who came after the premier league, they get priority? I'm not a season ticket holder anymore.. but i still attend games whenever i can, on royalty points il get in before most. But i'm just saying season ticket holders shouldn't have priority over royalty points.

Lowerwestjnr - really don't see how you can argue this. You openly admit you go "whenever you can" yet for some reason you expect to be in front of those who are actively supportiing the club NOW with regards to cup tickets.

Priority should go to those who are regularly putting their hands in their pockets to watch Reading & like it or not the ones who do that most are generally season ticket holders.

If you haven't had a season ticket for say 3-4 years then to be honest I think it's terrible that you may have more royalty points that a current season ticket holder.

Also - I disagree with your comment about people who started watching once we went up. So what if people came once we got to the PL? - if they're still in 2010 forking out their ST money each June then what axe can you possibly have to grind against them? They are putting their cash into the club now when lets face it it's more expensive to watch RFC than it used to be when the royalty points first started.
[/quote]

:| I'm sorry that i don't get a nice cushty 9-5 job monday-friday, and that i have to work shift patterns meaning, when i'm not working i'm at the games. LOL actively supporting the club NOW? so what am i doing? supporting them in the past? May i ask how long you've been a season ticket holder? And why is it terrible that i have more points? I go to a hell of a lot more away games than most people, and at 17, not being able to drive, that's alot more expensive for me. Bristol City for example, i had to shell out 60 quid for a hotel and then get up at 5am to get to work for 9, where were you that day?
