What I wont miss about the Premiership

by bubibe » 31 May 2011 11:33

Games that kick off at 3pm on a Saturday instead of whatever time suits audiences in Singapore

Getting a drink in the bar pre game without fighting my way through a posse of Manure supporters up from Kent

Watching a competitive game which we might win rather than sit & watch Chelski, Manure, Arsenal ..... use us as cannon fodder for their youth team

A positive season outcome to aim for rather than avoiding relegation

But still gutted we did not win yesterday

Being able to pay reasonable ticket prices

Being able to get tickets easily without a big scramble of people who want to go to the big stadia

All the camera flashes from the crowd when big stars play

Hansen analysing the defence on MOTD

Big teams losing to reading, rather than Reading beating them

Survival being the only objective

'Proper' away trips to Southampton, Brighton, West Ham, Millwall, Bristol City, Cardiff, Watford, Birmingham, Portsmouth and Peterborough instead of big day out trips to Emirates, Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, Villa Park and Anfield, where the largely uninterested home fans will just expect and probably get another three points.

1. Having pcunts like Dowd reffing us week in week out!
2. Stupid kick-off times and days
3. Season objective of finishing 17th
4. Being able to get tickets easily
5. Reasonable ticket prices

One of the negatives about staying down though is having to listen to that Oxf*rd (Steve Claridge) try and give us his Oxf*rd analysis on the games.

This.

And this really can't be underestimated.

Whilst I was delighted when we went up, the absolute truth is that the two seasons in the prem were weird, and not Reading as far as I was concerned. It reality it turned out to be too expensive to watch us and very little excitement except for we might not lose. Sure every now and then we beat a team but how's that different to Brian's FA cup runs now? And which is more exciting. There's an excitement that can't be adequately described when you're in the Championship and therefore chasing the biggest financial prize in football.

Sure it would've been nice to have actually won that prize, but the point is we still can and eventually will. Just means we have more excitement as we wait :)

Matches moved to suit the people at Sky
Extortionate ticketing prices
Watching us scrape a draw and it deemed a successful match.
A rare win.
Packed stands for us at away games.
The Premiership 'Experience'
Patronizing analysis about RFC.
Pundits not doing their homework on us.
Watching half our ex players at Wolves.

Well I'm gutted we won't be in the Premiership next season. It would have been great to see Reading there again.

I get you Pearcey but this is an attempt to make us feel positive again.

Basically as I've said somewhere else it's time to put this season to bed and think about something else.

For all our sanity's sake surely?

Struggling to get a ticket, because the Man Utd fan down your road has the seat instead.
Alan Hansen's analysation.
Neil Warnock.

After feeling a little numb for most of yesterday, I am now back to feeling positive about next season.

No extortionate ticket prices
The three teams relegated, Blades, Scunny and Preston. Replaced by Brighton, Southampton and Peterborough! :)
Two of the teams promoted, Norwich and Swansea, replaced by West Ham and Brum.

Mainly 3pm Saturday kick offs.
More away games with unreserved seating.
Hoping for 3 points in games, not just looking for a point!

Looking forward to the fixture list coming out already! :)

Mark Lawrenson telling us each week how poor we are

Players with over inflated egos thinking they should be playing somewhere else

Desperately keeping my mouth shut on the Liverpool supporters coach travelling up to Anfield

+1 Going to be some cracking away games next year.

+1 to this too
