If this is a wind up - I'll be more than   :x

If we end up signing someone like Michael Owen, I'll be beside myself with grief.

I think you can tell us it's not Messi though. It isn't Messi is it?

He was saying yesterday the club wanted to make an announcement at the same time as they announced the deal but that the signing was holding things up.

Looks like they announced the deal because bigmike told all on here though, I'm sure they would have preferred a press conference and a signing.

The papers are obviously speculating on budgets and target's, surely, fitting with the club's mantra, surely we will go for the right player at the right price, just because the club have come under new ownership,Id be both surprised and concerned if Brian started throwing money around willy-nilly.

I would say that Connolly definitely has to be a transfer, as he can play all across the defence, and did a good enough job last season, Rhodes could still be on as Sean morrisson has made no secret of the fact he would be happy to stay at huddersfield-perhaps used as a makeweight in that particular deal..

Any news on Mariappa??

Would this board implode if we signed Rhodes or Mariappa or someone like that? I doubt it.

I know who we would implode over, but I'm not saying anything.

The official site has been suprisingly quiet since the announcement - got the feeling something else might be happening.

If he's right about a signing, and he isn't exaggerating about the reaction, my guess is it could be one of the following:

Gylfi (unlikely)
Defoe
Joe Cole
Long (not really going to be a catalyist for forum meltdown, but I'd be pretty happy).

a quiet official site is certainly a sign that A: something may be happening, or B: nothing is happening

exciting times

Who say's it's a transfer? Could be something related to the possible stadium expansion next year. Usually the club tend to push the text message alerts before a signing. Interesting that the official site has quietened down recently - usually we would have interviews with BmcD and Hammond about transfers. Maybe they are in a certain country that likes beer and sausages trying to strike a deal...

Yeah, the forum would super-nova if it was news of stadium expansion.

I'd go nuts if we re-signed Long. I actually think I love him. Full homo.

Gylfi would be alright too, I suppose
