The club looks to be in great financial shape.

Anyone asking "Where did all the money go?" should be forced to read that article. It is the clearest exposition of Reading FC's finances and policies I've ever read.

Linden Jones' Tash well worth the time to read it

Agrred 100%. The only point I would query is the value the writer attributes to the recent purchase of the club. My understanding was it was £25M up front for a 51% stake. The articles suggests the total will be £25M, with £12.7M for the initial 51% and £12.3 for the rest by end Sept 13. I would have thought the overall value of the club was more than £25M?

Anyone know the identity of Swiss Rambler?

He is using the numbers reported in the national news most recently.

The figures you state are the initial guesstimations.

Doesn't this also provide a possible clue to the delays in signings.

If the club had to sell Kevin Doyle before June 30th (i.e. before the end of the club's financial year) to balance the books that year, maybe it is choosing to wait until the new financial year (July 2?) before making signings - so that signings are made under the first full year of the new ownership structure and with the PL payments received in the same period.

Am no accountant, but would seem to make some sense, wouldn't it? Not that we couldn't announce a signing before it's inked.

Can't believe I'm writing about this, I need to out more.

From what I remember in the press conference, Chris Samuelson said £25m was for 100% stake.

Lost of speculation and guesswork early doors, confirmed at the time the takeover went through as £25m for the whole shebang.

Well, the Premier League will know what was declared. Both AZ and BZ's wealth was disclosed to them [leading to the subsequent referral....]
