Simon's Church
leww_rfc Downside of Premier League return... plastics return and blame the goalkeeper in the first game they watch

 How many howlers does he have to make before we're allowed to criticise him?

TBH we looked knackered after an hour so could have lost anyway but the players head's obviously dropped when they equalised. If we can regularly get anywhere close to playing at the level we were from 25-45mins we'll do fine this season.

Like the pratt on BBCRB at the weekend, the challenge is there - list all of these numerous howlers you imply he has made.

Handsome Man I'm jealous of everybody who was there, and not remotely jealous of any Chelsea fan - they have Cole and Terry in their side and we don't

Thought the same on the weekend. Who wants the likes of Whitehead and Terry. Embarrassing.

skipper Can some one post a picture of how far he was offside??
It was so far offside you'll struggle to see it, even with a widescreen monitor.

Not if we get relegated by one goal diff TBF

If we go down on goal difference, it'll be because we didn't pick up enough points throughout the season and we'll deserve it. Accumulate enough points and we won't have to worry about goal difference.

EDIT: Federici's mistake wasn't the worst goalkeeper gaff in that game!

Man Friday Nothing's changed from when we were last in the PL. The small clubs have got no chance against the big clubs at their place. One or more officials will always give them marginal/key decisions. Games are decided on offsides, penalties, sending-offs. Makes you wonder why the small clubs bother. It's just corrupt.

Yes, and I expected this to happen. But it still sucks big time when it does. :x :x :x

Brian should make the point that the incompetent cheat's failure to raise his flag could cost us a fortune at the end of the season.

Thought we were pretty damned good once we got out 1st totally against the run of play.

Properly ran out of steam 2nd half and McCleary disappeared. Harte's crossing was naff, really needs to beat the 1st man more. Especially when we're in depserate need of a goal at the end of a game.

Still. Happy enough with the performance

2 in 2 games, last season has no bearing on current form.

It was so far offside that even the useless commentary team were screaming that he was offside before he buried the ball.

Chelsea were shit until Feds Howler and that was the boost they needed to go on and win

Before that we looked threatening going forward and look comfortable

So yes Feds did cost us simples

Ok keep him in the sticks but if he keeps having howlers it will cost us and were go down

Oh come on. Sh1t happens sometimes. Plenty of positives - Guthrie & McCleary looking great, Jem is back. We've just played the European Champions away from home FFS. Perspective please.

Could Terry have seen red for that tackle on Jobi? Seemed to me he was clean through.

He was giving the lino an earfull right after, but what does it matter, it was done and dusted by then. Even the announcers couldn't believe it was missed he was so far offside. I guess we could file a formal complaint. Like you said too much on the line to be losing points because of a shite/blind/incompetent lino...

Very disappointed at the awful decision by the linesman. It may have been 'just' offside but he had a completely clear view of Torres getting the ball. It really, really, really wasn't a difficult decision. Fantastic performance by Reading though. If we are able to play like that week in week out I don't see that there is much to worry about on the relegation front although the players will have to be stupendously fit to keep it up.
