[quote="Victor Meldrew"]Just now going to watch yet another master class from our left-back who last week failed to show Pienaar the outside (as pointed out by Nicky Forster) and goes missing in every game that he plays.
Great positional player my a***e.[/q

I take it you mean the whole defence ? after watching Mod either McD has no input or Gibbs who used to be a defender has trouble getting the message across on how we should defend Harte, Kelly so slow they could not catch a cold Pearce don't care coz he will be gone anyway, and Mapps just doing his thing, no leaders. don't worry we will be fine for the championship with a new Manager

moonwalklikebas
Victor Meldrew So come on Brian, what has Nicky Shorey done?
It must be something really, really bad.
Just to remind you,
Shorey is a better dead-ball kicker than Harte
Shorey is younger and quicker than Harte
Shorey is a better positional player than Harte
Shorey doesn't point a finger at everybody else when he makes a mistake
Shorey was presumably bought to take the place of the elderly Harte.

I can just see Shorey being brought back in to face Valencia and Walcott (a bit harder than facing Wigan and Villa at home)and Brian being delighted that he appears to do no better than Harte (forgetting the standard of the opposition.
Thanks Harte for dragging the rest down to your level.

Harte is probably our best player for positional play
Harte is slow and always has been, it's never been in his game.
Harte as every right to point the finger with Jobi in front of him.
I'd hate to be call elderly at 34.
Ian Harte is well known for having a wand for a left foot so your dead ball line also is utter BS.

Don't hate the player, hate the game

lol joke right ^^

Too many times we've been undone by teams getting past Harte and teams know its our weakness and exploit it

Plus his set peices are non existent at the moment - how many corners and free kicks have we actually threatened with in recent games?!

Shorey isn't the answer either - we need to buy in the summer

Both goals down Harte and McAnuff's side yet again today, what a surprise.

The way Harte fell over today, LOL. Dont reckon it will be the last we will of see that.

But it should be last we see of Harte in the PL, (wont be though) he is another player its just time to drop. Shorey is a better player in terms of what he can give the team. His set pieces and crossing is pretty similar, and with him in the side we wouldnt have the constant problem which is Harte's lack of pace. I dont know about todays game but at the game before at Everton, every one of his deliveries was overhit and/or shite, except the one HRK scored from. Basically I think we conceding far more goals due to his lack of pace than we are scoring from his deliveries.

In the summer i would let Shorey go. Give Harte a new one year deal for back up to a much needed new left back

Shock both goals came from Hartes side. He usually left two on one because Mcanuff does not track back and cover his man. Why is no one else seeing that. If you leave a retiring player on his own with two Pacey wingers there is only going to be one outcome. Stop pointing the finger at Harte because it's too easy to do do.

And to blame Harte for the first goal is just a joke.

HRK tracks back, works like a farm dog and keeps putting in a shift, gives Kelly good cover and also tries to beat a man.

Ask anyone that's actually played on the wing, your job is take the surging full back and leave your full back with the winger. Otherwise it's two on one which happens every fcking week!!!

I'm sure Trappatoni will have been so impressed by Harte's performance on Saturday that he will bring him back into their side immediately.

By Brian's rule book they should both* be dropped or injured for a life time now.

*Not Jobi, obviousy.

You are joking right.....?? McAnuff spends more time in the LB position than Harte does. By the time that Jobi is back near the 18 yard box filling the gap left by his team mate, Harte is still wheezing his way back across the half way line. The reason that Jobi isn't as effective going forward as he should be is that he knows, if (when) he loses the ball in an advanced position, he's going to have to track back and defend the oppositions attack himself. Harte may as well not the on the pitch for most of the match. Hartes one redeeming feature, his dead ball delivery seems to have left him too. No way he should be starting in front of Shorey (who, incidentally isn't the long tem solution).....

If McAnuff could put the ball in to the box instead of loosing it he would not have to track back as much as he does.
