urz13 6 massive games which could potentially set us up for a top of the table clash with QPR. Predictions, please.

6 massive games? They're just 6 games. Are we going to go through the whole season saying how massive the next 6 games are?

2pts/game is auto promotion stuff so if we take 12 from those then I'd be pretty happy.

Also don't get this "winnable game" nonsense. They're all winnable, and on the flip side we perfectly capable of losing any of them too.

I think these 6 games will tell us a lot about how good we are this season.

To be fair it looks like we have had the hardest start of any of the teams near the top of the table so far - we have played 6 of the current top 13 in just 8 games and yet are still 7th.

We now have a run of games against the lower half of the table sides and if we can win most of these we will most likely be in the top 2 so I am going

Agree with Mags to an extent, but this run does look like an opportunity to rack up a good run to balance out a less good run later on, perhaps when we get a run of tougher games against teams performing better.

There's notmuch between a lot of the teams in the division, but that just means when you come up against those that are in poorer form and struggling, you need to make sure you capitalise and dispatch them.

I still contend you can't analyse a fixture list picking and choosing which games you think you might win. They are all worth three points and should all be approached in the same way.

Fair enough I understand that armchair fans enjoy predicting results and all that, but they won't all go to form that i can tell you.

Obviously. We go into each game looking to win and I'd expect nothing less from the management. Although under some circumstances I might expect them to focus slightly more on one game than another where the squad is getting stretched maybe. But we're not the management and we have no control over preparation and organisation.

Speculating about form and results is kinda one of the main points of the forum.

windermere_royal Birmingham and Burnley are tricky, all the others are well winnable , anything less than 12 pints will be a major let down

You really got sucked in by all of Brian's nonsense, didn't you? Taking it one game at a time and all that rubbish. Everyone knows the way to win the league is to pick c.26-30 games that you'll win, some others that you'll draw, and then just don't bother in the rest.

All of these are very winnable but to have them all in a row is a bit unlucky as we unlikely to take every point from the next 6 although we should I'm going for:

Birmingham (H) - 2-0 win
Barnsley (A) - 3-1 win
Burnley (A) - 1-1 draw
Doncaster (H) 3-0 win
Millwall (H) 2-0 win
Sheffield Wednesday (A) 2-1 win

Hoping this can start a little run though, taking maximum points would put us in great form for the Qpr game!

Remind me ... where are Burnley in the table.

Whilst the game there is, of course, winnable, I'm amazed so many are expecting positive results. Are they expecting some epidemic in Burnley in the next couple of weeks ?

It's a cracking bit of logic isn't it? I particularly like how it refutes the other cliche about the fixture list as there can sure never be an easy run of games as it's quite impossible to win 6 in row, as Orient are proving

Apart from Burnley (a) we should definitely not be losing any of these games.
Less tahn 12 points would be under-performing imo.

Yeah I agree Birmingham and Barnsley should be strong, comfortable wins for us. Burnley have Doncaster and Charlton before us so they are bound to be in good form too
