It was brought forward from the Saturday because the wonderful football fixture computer scheduled both Nottingham teams home on the same day-so it was decided Forest would move to the Friday.

'Greed. Finish work early, hit the pub, go to the game, hit the pub, and you've still got your weekend left. I can only remember a few of those Friday nights, QPR the year they won the league, Forest when Andy Hughes headed home late on, Bristol City around 2002-03 when they did us 3-1. Any I've forgotten?

It must be a little more complex than that as those sort of clashes are excluded right at the start of the fixture process. I think Dirk has previously explained the 'pairing' system where clubs are linked so they can never get home games at the same time. Most have been something exceptional to allow the two Nottingham clubs to be given home games on the same day

Think you are giving to much credit to the football league computer-just a cock-up in my opinion

If it were then you'd think it would happen more often ! Can't be too hard to have a program that ensures team A is never at home at the same time as team B, it's a big element of the fixturing schedule to make sure the two Bristol clubs never play at home together, that Everton and Liverpool never clash etc etc. There is also a massive checking exercise so a simple cock up would have been spotted way before the fixtures were released. We'll probably never know !

Anyone know if it is 2 tickets allocated per season ticket? Or 1 per person?

It'll probably go staight to general sale. Same as Shef Weds. Can't believe demand will be high for a Friday night game.

Well that's going to knock a lot off the travelling attendance. We're driving, but I can't imagine many will leave work early and hit the road just for an inconvenient night game.

So I'm guessing they got themselves in an impossible loop where on that particular day whatever permutation they came up with something wouldn't work. It must be impossible to get it 100%, surprising we don't get more 'errors' really.

Any idea who we are paired with ? I know we have at various points shared our Safety Officer with Swindon and QPR so presumably that would be an issue. Other than that I can;t really see why we'd need to coordinate with another club.

So here's the bit I don't follow... Due to a fixture foul up of some kind both Nottingham clubs are at home on the same weekend, yet somehow it's agreed to switch the Forest home game to a Friday night and inconvenience 20000+ rather than switch the County game and inconvenience about 3000
