Blackman & McCleary to come on. Must be for Drenthe... who else? Sharp.

Kinda sensible... Blackman a bit more defensive than Sharp. But if we do conceed what we do next will be tricky.

Ian Royal Repeating it doesn't make it true. 9 starts 4 goals. 6 subs 3 goals. Basically the same record this season from the bench or from the start. Which is the only season that really matters for judging his performance and when to play him this season.

Feel free to voice your opinion on who's better. But try and make it based on reality, not an oft repeated falacy.

Certainly Sharp gets himself more involved in the game, with more touches per match. But they also average basically the same number of passes a game. And Alf's link up play (when he is involved) is woefully underappreciated by some. As is his general contribution to the club seeing as he's been top scorer (inc this one) three seasons in a row, is also woefully underappreciated by some.

As I said earlier. Sharp has the shirt and is performing well. And that's reflected by pretty much no one picking ALF in their favoured starting line up on here, rightly so. That doesn't mean everyone agrees he's useless starting. Because he isn't.

But anyway. I'd rather be trying to enjoy the game and our lead than trying to take cheap shots at our own players. But then I'm not like RB.

How many starts has Sharp had ?
How many goals ?

JMW... who would you bring on for fresh legs to stiffen the team up? There aren't exactly many decent alternatives on our bench.

Stiffen the team up  You sound like I imagine my gran to sound when talking about football.

Oh and fwiw - I would have brought Akpan on and played with a 5 man midfield.

3 and 2. Rather a small sample size to be drawing any conclusions don't you think?. But then we weren't talking about Sharp were we. His scoring record, is irrelevent to the fact that ALF has a scoring record of 1 every 2.25 as a starter, how anyone can say that is poor is mindboggling. It is excellent.

Any chance you'll admit you are wrong about it? It doesn't mean Sharp isn't also very good. You can conceivably like ALL of our strikers you know. Liking one doesn't mean you have to put down the rest.

Sharp seems to score in the first half of games, while ALF seems to score in the second half usually.

Why not have the best of both worlds? Start with Sharp and replace him with ALF at half time?

BBC Radio Berkshire:

Mick Gooding: "I think that may have been Uwe Rosler who has just left"
Tim Dellor: "Just taken over the Wigan job..."
Mick Gooding: "Have Reading got Wigan coming up soon?"
Tim Dellor: "Next week"...

Or acknowledge that both are good and whichever starts is fine. Plus we have good cover in the other.

Agree, ALF has scored again and again at crucial times. He could wrap the match up and has been far more convincing, and has a good, proven track record.

As opposed to Akpan and Blackman... :?

Pog robs them and shows quick feet but can only win a corner. Comes to nought.

McAnuff wins it and plays it to Pog. Wins another corner.
