We keep having a go late on, so the question is why can't they have a go earlier in the game? The answer for me is they just don't want to play for the manager. I can't find any better explanation. We are a shambles. Something has to change and bloody fast!

the fact we have a go late on could be down to the opposition sitting bk more and holding onto their lead as all we seem to be doing is chasing the game

We start with zero urgency stroking it round the back four. Opposition close us down more and more, occasionally catching us in possession. We get rattLOLed. Get caught once too often and conceed. From then on we chase the game and look better.

Someone once said 'attack is the best form of defence'. This is Adkins' antithesis.

No it's not.

Look at his Southampton and Scunthorpe sides.

About to post something similar. I still support Adkins, however there is something wrong somewhere.

Past 8 Games (Since Dec 01)

Shots (On Target)
RFC - 76 (21)
Opponents - 142 (45)

Score
RFC 5-10 Opponents

Possession
RFC average 48.9%

Corners
RFC 53-24 Opponents

Irreversible decline?

by BORING 1-0 » 04 Jan 2014 21:04

After the previous relegation from the Prem, we promised much (3-1 at Brum and 4-1 at Bristol City for example) but results began to decline and instead of what initially looked like a top two finish; the team meekly faded against Brum at home and against Burnley in play offs (the latter without a goal in either leg); that season's outcome felt painful and unavoidable; I see the same loss of confidence and lack of desire this season and as we started less strongly this time; the play offs are looking unlikely; there are just too many better sides in the division;

Why is this happening again and how can it be overcome?

Remember Wolves last season!

We are so slow in both thought and movement that we only appear to be having a go late on when the opposition is becoming more tired and allow us more space.

Don't know what is going on with our "Sports Science" department but we seem to be going backwards in this area.
