Just coz they are the rules doesn't make them sensible.

Reading have been punished twice.

So we should have deathmatch first 10 minutes of football with no red cards where the teams do their best to break legs until the 11th minute? It's the same rule for everyone. If you don't want to get sent off and give away a penalty, don't foul an attacker when you're the last man in the area.

yes, but if you were a Sheff Wed fan you'd think the rule was good. It makes the game more exciting.
Perhaps Pearce should have let the guy go and let him try to beat McCarthy rather than commit the foul, get sent off and give them a penalty.
