Great article and nice too see how highly thought of Nigel Adkins is here, even if some posters can't move on themselves!

U21's win 3-1 at Arsenal AET and progress into the final of the U21 cup. Tanner with 2 and Kelly the scorers. Great week for the younger lads.

Do we know who they'll play in the final and where and when that gets played?

It's Man City or Burnley

Hopefully somewhere neutral.

I've seen those boys turn city over before so we have a decent chance..

This has cheered me up. Another season at this level really wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Would love to see some of these youngsters breaking through.

Predictable response from Brian McDermott himself..

Man City vs Burnley is not till 1st April, so the finals won't be for ages.

Interviews like that are so stage managed by clubs with people from the media department stood right next to the interviewee.

But yeah, you roll your eyes Ian. Do us all a favour and jump off a bridge while you're at it.

Of course, it must be a massive conspiracy to make Adkins look popular when everyone hates him. He does after all have a terrible management and youth development record.

It's an odd article though isn't it.

Dolan says in one breath we've got to be the most attractive club for developing young players but in the next sentence pretty much proves that Southampton are.

Weakened U18 side currently playing Chelsea, lots of players rested after all the minutes on the pitch last week.

Naturally, they are 1-0 down currently.
