Avon Royal
ScepticalRoyal That is simply not true. Why wouldn't every fan want to see their team in the Prem?

Because. We. Are. Not. Ready.

Bar miraculous 106 teams, no Championship team has ever been "ready".

...and so begins what is likely to be one of the most depressing summers for Reading fans in recent years. No owner, no money, no hope of keeping the likes of Obita, McCleary, Williams or McCarthy.

It's going to be a long, hard summer on here.

Were Palace "ready" last season?

In the sense they had an owner and were able to invest, yes.

Pepe the Horseman Lol @ the Forest defending for Brighton's winner.

^this. i was watching via stream and it showed the goal. just awful. actually the defending in the last 20 minutes was awful. (they showed numerous chances for brighton)

^this.

i still have to say NA performed a minor minor miracle by keeping us in the playoff hunt till the very last day. with promised investments that never came to be, AZ disappearing, ridiculous strings of injuries, players hitting poor form sporadically, all the new ownership drama, and constant abuse from fans. we were very very fortunate to be in 7th (6th for most of the season), instead of midtable like leeds.

It'll be difficult for sure but there's plenty to be optimistic about - we just have to get shot of at least 10 players which I would guess must include Drenthe, Pog and Williams to have the required impact on the wage bill.

The worst thing with Reading is there is always "hope" until the end!!

So cruel. Especially the (false) news that it was 2-2 at forest. Also that we had about 5 good chances.

We can talk all day about how harsh it is.

The players were excellent today. How can anyone fault the grit and determination. We did our best and lost our narrowly. That's football.

Lots to be positive about and potentially to look for.

P.s. Which pub is best for Brentford away?

I think we're about as far away from being close to even thinking about readiness as a team could get.

Except for maybe Derby in 2007.

I'm currently on the bus home from the game..... Didn't stay for the players lap of appreciation after fans started cheering and invaded the pitch to celebrate....I kept rechecking the scores on phone assuming they were not final and maybe Forest equalised, eventually for the fans on for the pitch it sunk in and then a section got confrontational with the away fans, stewards and police keeping the idiots away from the away stand while the Pa system kept mumbling something you could onlynhear outside the ground - all fans off the pitch now.... But realising it would take 30 mins or more to clear I left.

Was there a late disallowed goal or something?

We played well, still sloppy at the back but it was a cracking game and atmosphere. Fingers crossed we managed to hold onto key players and sign a quality central defender.

By "No" I mean, there was nothing in the Brighton game after the winner that could have even been mistaken for a goal.

Frankly, the highlight of my day was the scorer of Hudderfield's first

On the upside Taylor had a good game after coming on. Kept us flowing a lot more than Akpan. Would love to see him and Williams develop a partnership next year.

Don't think he meant that type of partnership.
