I'd say we are definitely not rich. If as rumoured this guy is *only* worth £250m, and he's spending £50m of it on us then he is worth less than SJM was before the property and print business crash.

The only difference is that he seems more willing to spend it than SJM.

But he is just one of a number of people in the consortium who who have had their individual wealth speculated at being in the billions.

In other words, no-one knows

Personally I'll be callling for SJM's head if Carlos Slim, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett aren't in the consortium

Spend his own money or spend money his football club can borrow from lenders?

Why would you spend your own money when you can borrow it against the club?

Lend it to the club and get it out of Thailand.

If he is a sterling billionaire then yes we could well be rich, but if he is a Thai baht billionaire (55 to the pound) then we will still have the annual black hole

As I've said before, why would anyone be in a consortium to throw money away at a trophy asset and not get the glory of publicly owning that asset?

Personally I think talk of this consortium is about as credible as TSI.

Because it's a part of a much wider business portfolio that can potentially give the owner other benefits that outway a debit on a balance sheet?
